Adelmaal, what groups over worship Jesus, I never happened to meet any.
I don't know if that's worse than what the JWs do who over emphasize jehovah, doing away with the healing, reconciliatory, liberating influence of the Son.
They got into a mess with a devilishly complicated moral code and being hopelessly stressed out when it comes to the issue of personal salvation, like the jews they basically seek salvation by works and come under bondage.

What happened to Babylon the Great? Why is it still here?
by truthseeker inhave you seen bab-el-on the great?
she was here just a few minutes ago.. seriously, i was thinking back to the days of 1988 - when we first received the copy of the penultimate revelation book.
you know, the one with the red cover and the scary dragon pictures inside.. at that time, jw thinking was heightened to expect the imminent destruction of false religion.

Nathan N is it a case of them not knowing what they should believe or of knowing but not practicing it because it's not in their interests?
I detect so much subtle manipulation in the GB's handling of the JWs it has to be carefully planned and all done by design there is a definite intention to deceive and exploit.
We have people here promoting the interests of a big business empire while pretending to promote the spiritual interests of a religious body of follopwers, very genuine babylonians. -

Finger in the chili
by anasazi init is a hoax.
she was arrested for it.
this fact that a woman made a complaint about finding a finger tip in her chili and thus it hurt wendy's business shows that two witnesses are necessary for any accusation to be validated.

People on this board have a very long list of valid complaints against the WTS would you like to hear some? They can see the fingerprints of deceit and manipulation all over them.

But aren't the watchtower people themselves part of Babylon the great by the way they enslave and exploit and ill treat their followers spiritually and emotionally? IMO they are one of the more cunning and obnoxious parts of babylon, they lie, deceive, and manipulate ruthlessly as most people on this board will readily testify.
So do they really want to see babylon fall? I don't think so as they are part and parcel of it it's another one of their many lies.
Remember how GB member Sydlik treated those who decided to study the bible by itself (no watchtower magazines) in Bethel, he degraded them called them worms, leeches, spiritual fornicators and had them kicked out of the WTS just imagine it, because they were studying the Bible without watchtowers. That's a sure hallmark of a babylonian.
And they made a hell of a lot of money out of religion. -

I had the same experience as Blondie I could not bring people in a society that profoundly lacked brotherly love, telling them lies that there they would find many loving brothers and sisters so no need to worry about leaving their worldly family and friends behind. Also disliked the FDS authoritarianism.

The JWs worst aspects for you are?
by greendawn inwhich jw doctrines, collective personality traits and general history do you find to be the most destructive or disagreeable?
i personally found the doctrine of the other sheep which makes the christ inaccesible to most jws, the devilishly complicated moral code, and the hideously totalitarian behaviour of their leadership to be the worst things on a long list that i've prepared regarding what's unacceptable to me in that society.
i remember when i was arguing with the elders about the fds and their claim to total spiritual supremacy and they were telling me that the idea of democracy departs completely from their way of thinking, here they have a theocracy and that even "talking about the right things at the wrong time" is basically a crime in other words sit and wait for the fds to reveal it at the so called right time, and i should accept things as they are and not as i want them to be otherwise i get thrown out.

That more than anything else made me hate this org and want to leave it, my mouth nearly dropped open to tell them: you can staff your FDS and his insane delusions you know where. -

Like Fairchild I could never accept that Jesus was God in the mysterious Trinitarian concept but I could see why it was formulated, because they could not accept that there are two Gods (God the Father and God the Son) and desperately seeking to resolve this apparent polytheism they came up with the non sensical two in one idea a strange sort of alchemy based on neo platonic philosophy rather than on anything biblical. Mind you they didn't do it out of a pagan babylonish attitute as the JWs claim, and it was just a coincidence that some pagans had trinities. Their motive was genuine but misguided, they just couldn't stomach the idea of two Gods.
The whole drift of the new testament is not pro trinitarian Jesus himself or the apostles never formulated such a concept, very strange since this should be the most central one in christianity defining the relationship of the Father and the Son. If it was real they would certainly have expressed it clearly and unambigiously back then.
Then we see the Son had to suffer and be disciplined, before receiving the supreme status he had to pay a heavy price for it and I can't see how this could apply to God, why should God have to pay to aqcuire a status that belongs to him anyway, it makes no sense.
But God the Father being the master of everything can whenever He so wishes give divine status to another person and He made Christ a second God to sit on His throne and be worshipped like Him, the two of course being in perfect harmony and unity of mind, heart and purpose, Jesus did not have a grabbing selfish mentality in receiving his godship.
So the JWs are doing well to accept this fact and stop expelling those who say that Christ is one to be worshipped as Lord or God, and stop thinking of him as being a mere king or high priest of Jehovah.
If they are not Christ's people/church if they do not invoke him and pray to him and even worse if they can't have a personal relationship with him then there is something very seriously wrong with them. -

Governing Body talk in Holland - GB decisions are Jehovah's decisions
by truthseeker init seems that few are aware of it, but the whole talk here is posted.. http://e-jehovahs-witnesses.com/viewtopic.php?t=2337&postdays=0&postorder=asc&&start=45.
seems like holland is having problems with jw authority.. thought i'd paste a few comments from the board before pasting the talk, so you can get an idea of what is happening.... --------------------------.
thanks for the update from holland.

Apparently the absolutist ways of the WTS leadership haven't gone down well with the Dutch who are one of the most liberally minded and democratic people in Europe.
That talk is a typical piece of sleazy JW propaganda and manipulation projecting jehovah and relegating Christ and relying heavily on the old testament for its effect.
And the usual crap about the FDS who they know as much as everybody else that he is a false prophet and teacher that would have been exterminated in the days of Moses as an impostor against God and man for a 100% prophetic failure rate. -

As JWs, ever met any annointed ?
by greendawn inin your time as jws did you ever meet any of the annointed?
did they have good christian personalities and what did they think of the wts and its governing body ?
i met one and he was very unhappy with the way the gb treated him and generally the way they run this society, he told me he wrote them two letters containing a long list of complaints with full scriptural support but he was ignored, first letter got a reply amounting to "no need to write to us" the second one no reply at all.

Honesty, I don't believe in the annointed the way they do, I see all individuals having Christ as their saviour/Messiah and a possible personal relationship with him, the annointed I used to perceive as people with higher spiritual aspirations than the rank and file some sort of JW monks, and the one I knew fitted that description he had no earthly aspirations at all never cared about having wife, family or wealth.
But did you partake of the bread/wine as a JW? Where did you disagree with them and got accused as an apostate supposedly? I got hounded for disagreeing with blood policy, the 1914 generation, and FDS dictatorial mindset, that was back in the eighties. I disassociated. -

Both have heads who believe that they are biblically authorised: St Peter the prince of the apostles/apostolic governing body, both are imaginary foundations.
Both show a total lack of mercy and humanity in the way they treat their dissenters the JWs torture them psychologically the RCC used to torture them physically, both do(did)it for the victim's own salvation.
