How did you get over your silly fear of demons?
by embeth2525 ineven now, i still battle with a silly fear of if something might have demons or not...i know it is silly, really, i do, but i haven't been able to get over it completely yet.
does anyone have any suggetions for me?

Consider a naturally occuring mental experience pleasant or unpleasant,it is generated by a certain electrical activity of the brain (cells). An external supernatural agent can also induce the same electrical activity and therein experience. It can have two causes, internal or external.
In the JWs demon phobia is induced internally out of their peculiar collective psychology that for some reason is susceptible to this phobia. It is a kind of panic attack, in my view.
These so called "demonised" objects are surely found in the homes of many Catholics, Protestants, Jews etc yet none of them ever report demonic attacks out of them as the JWs do. -

i saw them and made a conscious decision to leave.
what would you have done in a similar situation??

Since I did not particularly dislike any of them I would look at them peacefully, but since you know the most you can do with them is exchange a few words, basically I would ignore them.

Derek, yes if the appearence of new species of plants is down to genetic engineering, or else it's Divine power that does it. It's a subject also touched by creationists who believe that at one time all animals lived in peace and ate from such fruit which are now extinct. Possible but as yet unproven.
Doogie, I am not an expert biologist or ecologist but when it comes to insects there are over a million species of them and counting (there could well be a million more yet to be discovered) and not more than 1% are parasitic, harmless beetles and ants make up most of the insect bio mass. Obviously life without insects breaking down countless tons of dead plant matter is impossile.
I can't see how doing away with that 1% can threaten the food chains but then why argue? Idea: we can also have plants that produce blood like substances for these to feed on, and leave us and our pets and animals alone. The same for those nasty liver eating worms to leave us and our sheep alone. -

Having asked a native Greek speaker about the verse translated as from house to house he said to me that almost certainly that is a wrong translation.
The words in question are "kat'oikon" "at the house/home" which is still used occasionally in that sense in Modern Greek, eg students get "kat'oikon ergasian" which means "at home work" ie homework, as opposed to work done at school.
So Paul having first taught at the Synagogues he would follow up teaching those interested, privately at their homes.
From house to house would be correctly rendered as "ex oikon eis oikon" where ex=from, oikon=house/home, eis=to, which doesn't appear in Acts. -

Derek I think we touch on the subject of harmony between the species of the living world. Pathogenic micro organisms should get wiped out since they cause diseases in humans, in plants and animals and since they can't live and reproduce without being destructive to other living forms.
Other biting and blood sucking parasitic creatures such as fleas, lice, mosquitoes, tapeworms, should also be wiped out since they also they can live only by causing harm.Who cares if these little beasts vanish from the world anyway?
As for lofty, warm blooded creatures that are carniverous such as lions, tigers, wolves, eagles, falcons etc these should be dealt with differently through the creation of plants, trees, that produce meat like fruits on which they can survive without having to kill other animals.
Herbivorous creatures are no problem. -

Google when I get some free time I will check things out to see what's really going on.
However I don't think the claim that most satanists and demonists suffer severe mental problems, can be so easily dismissed as Christian propaganda. -

Crazy reasons why people became JW's...
by misspeaches indo any of you have any amusing stories as to why some people becames jw's?.
personally... when we were just little tikes my mum was organising a birthday party for my sister.
she invited the neighbours boys around and they weren't allowed because they were a jw family.

Perhaps this is not a crazy reason, but this guy I knew at the cong having observed his behaviour over a time I am absolutely sure that deep down he didn't really become a JW because he really cared about their truth but because he had high ambitions to get a top position in the society and eventually he did get a senior position in a Bethel abroad.

Google as I said that person I had met for the first time, and I don't know what satanists are really up to with ceremonies and beliefs, however he didn't come across to me as someone telling lies or put up to it by someone else. Was he acting all this out? He really seemed to be perfectly honest and serious about what he was saying and to have regreted getting involved in satanism.
It may also be that they have different rituals in different countries.
Once more I say the best way to clarify things is to carefully and objectively study them, gather info from a lot of them to see what's really going on.
