have any of you heard a C.O. or D.O. at an assembly say, "we used to say 'armageddon is around the corner'... well brothers, we have passed that corner, and armageddon is right in front of us." i have... and it was very exciting. now it's less exciting and insulting and retarded. i feel bad for the people who might still get excited at similar expressions they might hear at various Jdub gatherings... oh well, hopefully they'll have their eyes widened by something sooner or later

i just read a post that said the audience was not obediently clapping at the convention when the speakers made wild statements (presumably with the rising nazi voice).
did anyone else notice this.. will others look out for it at their dc and tell us?.

can you imagine that they actually have watchtower articles on whether or not to clap at which occassion? doesn't that just blow your mind? it does mine, because my mind is dirty from all the unwashing that my brain has been going through since the great brainwashing of 1979-2003

since this is the 4th of july weekend, do any of you display the american flag in or around you home?.
i have to admit, although i have been faded for many years, i find it difficult to even own anything with the american flag symbol.
it's funny because today is Canada day, and people here don't even think about stuff like that (for the most part)... i think it's because 99% of our population truly does love the country we live in, and we're secure enough about it that we don't have to display it the way the americans do. does that make any sense at all?

ok, i got bored and pulled out the 6/1/05 wt and scanned through it.
one article grabbed my attention due to the fact it hit a topic i posted on last week, works.
its entitled saved, not by works alone, but by undeserved kindness.
when i was a kid, my brother and i would discuss whether the disciples had watchtowers and awakes with them or if they just used the bible... now i know that they would offer a bible study, or whatever the offer of the month was...

after you left the jws and entered your post wts era what sort of things did you learn about them that you found surprising?
there are some recent jws that haven't even heard of russell or even rutherford let alone of their objectionable conduct especially that of rutherford.
or they don't know anything about malawi and mexico, the ray franz incident and the witchhunt of the early 80's, or the organ transplant ban.
anything TRUE about their history... anything REAL about the society which i thought was so perfect
