Just another instance of the elevation of an earthly magazine about the Word of God. Ever heard of the bible? I've been thinking about that-it really irked me.

Sorry, I know you guys have heard that song and dance before, but I'm just a newbie. Just beginning to hear all of the backstory from 1980 onward.

durring the middle of an assembly, jump out of your seat, fly around the auditorium screaming , "satan is my king!

A friend and I almost got away with playing Bacdafucup in the kingdom hall by switching cd's way back when.....ah, the good old days when I really could play sick, and still be able to go home after half of the meetings was over, and still have that bowl of ice cream before bedtime.

what it feels like to be reinstated

i just got reinstated about 3 months ago and i am still trying to adjust.

i got baptized right before i turned 16, got disfellowshipped not even a year later.

then another year later i get reinstated.

Post WTBTS Life

i have been inactive for about three and a half years now and just recently after making some big changes in my life have i made a commitment not to return to the "organization".

for quite awhile now i've just felt like i was apathetic towards religion.

now i'm disgusted by religion, religious dogma, and fanaticism.. one thing that i've noticed in those i deal with that are ex-witnesses is that many tend to swing the exact opposite direction once they leave.

I feel exactly the way you do---it's been a few years and the strings are still pulled tight, but just love people more, and be patient with yourself....i think we all look for another organization to belong to, because I think it is wonderful to belong to something to someone-it's a lot like being in love. But, if the relationship doesn't work out, at the time of the breakup, it seems like a whole life is lost; but that is extremist thinking-just like thinking that you are evil or bad because you are missing that brotherhood. Just remember, there is another brotherhood, one without judgement or hatred. And it begins on your terms, in any way you choose. I'm just a newbie, but I think that everything's gonna be fine (I say this for you just as much as for me), and that we'll be able to go on living, and not be afraid of the future.

I MOVED OUT!

ok, so i moved out on saturday.

i am not 18 for 17 more days but my mom asked me to leave early all the same.

on friday things got hairy, we had jw friends from out of town visiting, and i exploded.

Wow, perhaps a little discretion would have been called for, but the courage was there. It's so hard leaving, it's like the marrionette strings are always there......I hope everything works out for you, I'm just coming to terms with the two years I've been away, but they've all been worth it....don't alienate yourself, become more loving and tolorent...i think that's the only was you'll be able to pull through without becoming very bitter, and good luck to you.

i am stunned.. with all the effort to try and make the issue of abuse known through silentlambs.

the hundreds of accounts given by victims explaining the foundation of why watchtower policy hurts children.

the lawsuits now being enacted to make watchtower compensate those injured by their policy.

My heart goes out to all emotionally and physically battered women like my mother, who still can't get away from JW abusers who are assured of their superior status.

October 7th Ex-JW gathering in San Francisco

i hadn't seen any recent posts about this event.

tonight i spoke to paul thomason, the organizer of the event.

he said that last year they had about 18 in attendance.

My cover is just fading away. I thought it the best was to go, without any fanfare. I grew a nice beard and people who see me at the shopping center look at the devil when they see my face-i mean, there is a visible recoil. I expected it because at one point I participated in such behavior. Now, I'm just 22, but I sometimes think my marbles are going caca. I hate talking about it because another friend who "left" thinks we should just forget about it and think about God in our own way and forget the past. It feels a little lonesome, still, as though I never left, because I can't get close to people who don't understand, and I certainly can explain myself to a JW. It's a bizzarre thing.

I don't know.
