Unbelieving husbands- blessing in disguise?
by dido ini was married to an `unbelieving` husband for the 25 years i was a jw and i divorced him a few years ago, before i got d/f, but looking back now, he was a blessing in disguise, as in some ways i kept up to date with the `world` altho` i didn`t get involved with anything in it, apart from shopping at sainsburys on a sat afternoon.
the rest of the time i was too busy looking after my kids and getting to meetings etc.so didn`t have any spare time, esp as he was quite demanding, but it was a protection living in a `divided household` as i didn`t have to be 100% reliant on the org.
has anyone else in retrospect thought that it has saved them from a lot of problems that occurred in the congs?

Although my mom would never admit it, I am sure she is very happy that my dad never came into the "troof". She gets to have a significant say in the house and not be constantly reminded that the man is the head of the house and that she is just "the weaker vessel."
My dad was also pretty liberal with my mom financially, so she got to pioneer full time and still shop at all the best stores like a mad lady.
If my dad was a dub, he would have certainly put his foot down on her habits.

i haven't watched any films for months now but i will when i restart my satellite tv subscription next month.

I just saw "The Daparted". Loved the movie and I recommend it. But I agree with the earlier posts, it is very violent and uses harsh langage so bewarned.
I also just saw "Derailed" on DVD.
A great movie as well.

Where did everyone go for summer vacation?

we had a wonderful time in denmark and scotland.

We went on a cruise to the Bahamas and Bermuda.
It was great.
I try to take a cruise every year and I never get tired of them.
You can do as much as you want, or nothing at all.

the show will depict their climb to fame.. the twist is that they are both coming out of the closet about being gay and their parents who are jehovahs witnesses are unaware of their sexuality.. has anyone heard about this show?.

I have a panasonic plasma 37" screen tv.
I am very happy with its performance and clarity.
What out for the additional costs for cables, power surges, installation and set up through cable.
You'll need a special cable box for the HD feature to work.

by pratt1 ina relative of my wife, just got engaged to a "worldly guy".. the young lady is a baptized publisher, and i am shocked to hear that no one has made a negative comment about her future husband not being an dub.. even her mother who is a pioneer has not made an issue of the engagement.. has things changed?.
are the elders easing up a little on the rank and file?.
