Experience with a so called "worldy" person

i just wanna share an experience of mine, i hope it will help anyone with a related issue.

im 20 years old, i still live with my parents and go to school full-time.

for 17 years i was a jw on and off.

I hope that you both find some answers and some good friends here. I certainly have. mbn, I am pleased that you didn't let go of you love for the girl. If my husband had given up on me before I left, I would have missed one of the largest blessings I've ever had in my life. I hope that your new religion makes you happy.

anuva, hang in there buddy. It ain't easy, but perhaps your girl will see that it is you that truely loves her, not the elders in her congregation.

i know a bunch of jw's for over 30 years , and most of them aviod me , they hate getting twisted into a pretzel.

but some of them do talk with me .

and i allways ask them how are you doing?

Agreed Johnny, I do see sadness when I run across them. However, knowing what we know about the ones who "went off the deep end"....I'm pretty sure the sadness is for my lost salvation. There is definately a depression issue with the witnesses, but I'd bet its the same for all fundamentalist religions. Living by someone else's standards, and under such rigid controls, we all know how that is.

But I'd have to say, I don't see much difference now than from 7 years ago, when I was still active. Same old rhetoric.

i personally like it but i'm not an avid coke drinker.

i personally don't see a diff.

I've wondered the same, myself.

My opinion on C2: pretty good stuff. Original Coke is still my naughty habit, but if I can cut that darned ole high fructose in half, the better for me. But one of you said it best when you said it had to pass the rum test.

The Craptacular Pain Of Jealousy

heh, i try and i try and i try, but, i just can't get over my jealousy problem.

when i read stories, even on this website, about people finding love and having great experiences in life i just can't help but get terribly jealous over it and start to think about it for hours.

you guys got any tips on how i can stop being so jealous?

Sorry all, gotta agree with Jared & Desi on this one. Sex doesn't make jealousy go away....at all. You just want to feel something, with someone who returns those feeling. I know because I remember that, from myself. Well it came to me and was worth waiting for.

So call her OS. Haven't we already had this discussion? Honestly young one!

hello,forum.my name is dallas and i live in oklahoma.i left the jehovahs witnesses in 1998 after a former member showed me the 1925 false prophecy.i knew circuit overseer william osbeck very well,he left my circuit only to be replaced with brother"if you knock the society i will scream"boatz.he was nothing but a first class coward.he wouldnt even meet with me after i had disassociated myself.i have no regrets about leaving,why didnt my conducters bring up the 1925 failure while i was studying?they failed to mention it.anyway i am glad to be free.god bless you all.-dallas

for skeptics, true believers and people like me.

i have heard or read, on this forum and in other mediums, of people who claim to have had experiences that can only be described as "ecstatic, mystical, spiritual, supernatural" etc.

they all claim that the experience was real, in fact, more real than reality itself.

I have to agree with Franklin J. I never had any such experience while I was involved with the Witnesses. I wanted one so badly though. I thought that would help me have the blind faith that everyone said I was lacking.

If Tony doesn't get the message now ...

the results are coming in for the local council elections and tony blair / labour are getting a thumping .

the message is simple: don't lie to us and treat us like idiots and don't put the will of some foreign leader above the will of your own people.there were even suggestions by the tories that labour may be heading for one of its worst ever results in such elections.

Simon, I don't know how you felt about Tony before, but my impression over here of him, was that he was a fairly straight forward guy. I did like him. But the people need to be heard and acknowledged.

Lets just hope the same thing happens to the Shrub Administration.

(sorry all Bush supporters out here, this is just my opinion....I have a brother thats been stuck in Iraq for over a year.)

What sister elder said at the book study..........ARRRGH

hello all; my jaw dropped monday at the bookstudy.at the book study on monday, the only meeting i can stomach anymore, a statement was made that made my blood boil.

in asking the question "how does god protect us?

" sister elder answered this way: "well, one of the ways is like that abuse case that was filed in the (twin) cities, or wherever, (sic) it turns out it was thrown out because all the charges were false, or whatever.

Pist- I've gotta know, was there any reaction at the book study? Did people seem embarrased, or uncomfortable?

My biggest problem with the B.S. (book study, hah, isn't that fitting) was that we were never allowed to ask real questions, or come up with real answers.

Unfortunately the answer that lady gave reminds me of a thousand I've heard before. Only its been so long since I was at a meeting, that I can't remember exactly what was said. It just rings familiar with me.
