do you feel any additional bitterness from the brother or sister that gave you a bible study and expected you to remain a good jw.. althought i'm not df'd, the one that gave me a bible study that led to my baptism never calls, or comes over, although he is an elder today.. i feel plenty of bitterness from his part..

My Bethel experience

because of the length of this, it will be done in two parts.

part 1. i when to bethel march 21,1970. at the time you had to be a pioneer for two years to apply, by the time i left in 1974 they were calling people in who had never pioneered..........average stay was 5 months ( they had signed up for 4 years)..........the reason they left was......well, it was hell.. one of the reasons was, knorr hated bethelites, but he loved the gilead students and why?

because when they screwed up they were thousands of miles away!........just before i got there, they had kicked out over 60!

Did you ever go to Brooklyn to visit Bethel?

when i joined back in the mid 80's many in my congregation went to visit the bethel in brooklyn.. for some reason, i had no interest for that.. in the last years that i attended meetings, they didn't organize anything like that anymore.. i wonder why that changed?.

We went to Mecca/a.k.a Bethel & Watchtower Farms/ Stanley Theater a number of times over the years. We thought we were in "Paradise" at the time. I remember walking through the factory. It had crystal-clear view across the East River where you could see the Statue of Liberty & The Twin Towers. I remember thinking how Manhattan looked tempting to me, but being in NY with a Bethel tour, there'd be now way we could visit the "Wicked City".

And then they's take you in to the bowels of the factories where all the laundry people were pretending to happy with their plastic "smile for the camera" looks on their faces. Hot as blazes, yet those doing the ironing and blowing compressed air up shirts and pants thought they were in the "New System".

It still amazes me to this day how they ended up with all that $$$ real estate.

we're not getting on the boat

well our furnace was acting up monday night.

it wasn't staying on, which when it's positively freezing out, is not good.. my husband called a few different people and finally asked me if i would be ok if he called my brother?

see, my brother is a) a heating and cooling guy and b) the heating and cooling guy who put in our furnace a few years back.

Oh thanks for fixing the furnace, leave a bill, now make like a tree (that Noah used for his boat) and leave.

Arrogant JWs are seriously irritating!

every so often, i can get seriously irritated with jehovah's witnesses!

especially my daft as a brush parents.. one of my children has just moved in with his girlfriend.

they're a lovely couple, both adults and happy with eachother.

My JW mom just passed away............
