  NEW LIGHT ALERT! TARGET 2015 END TIMES! EVE WAS CREATED 40 YEARS AFTER ADAM! THE END IS NEAR!

  this is going around the kingdom halls now, i thought it was a hoax but are not all the end time dates produced by the organization some hoax or con?

  the reason why the end did not come in 1975 was the watchtower society had not put eve's creation in their equation.

  i was told when we had a "meet and greet" if "we knew the date of eve's creation we would know the year jehovah was going to destroy the earth.. it's been 40 years since 1975, can you believe it's been 40 years since "stay alive till 1975!"?

  Memories. .. share the earliest or most favorite childhood memory

  my daughter tells me that experts say children tend to have false memories.

  apparently their brain tends to fill things in that may not be totally accurate.. i refuse to believe that my favorite and comforting memory might not be true.

  so here is to fond memories real or not.. the earliest memory i have is being put in a crib at a preschool.

  My earliest memory was of being in a crib with another child who'd somehow gotten a very full diaper off and was 'fingerpainting' with the stuff all over the crib and walls (I know...too gross!). I related this memory tomy mom as an adult and she was surprized I'd remembered it because I was only 3.  I think I was slightly traumatized 😳

  later, my best memories were when we went out to 'the ranch' to spend a day with my mom's "worldly" family; grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles.  My JW dad was never around for that except to pick us all up in the evening to go back home.  He really hated it when my grandfather picked us all up (my mom didn't drive).  They were all such evil worldly people. 

  There were other good memories but not one involved meetings or assemblies.  They were usually when we missed a meeting and did something fun.

  Toddler accidentally shoots woman dead in Idaho Walmart

  a woman has been shot dead by a 2-year-old in a wal-mart store in idaho.. .

  the 29-year-old was shopping with four children in the store in hayden, when the two-year-old reached into her handbag and fired the weapon, shooting her dead.. initial reports suggested the woman was the boy's mother, but the police have said that this is as yet unclear how they are related.. source; http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/toddler-accidentally-shoots-woman-in-idaho-walmart-9950847.html.

  I felt awful for this family when I first read the news.  I had four little ones by the time I was 29 so know full well how crazy and distracting shopping with them can be (which is why I generally didn't).  I guess my biggest question is why the safety was off.  Did the toddler watch her handling the gun and figure out how to undo the safety?  I just can't imagine that she failed to set the safety with her training and having all those kids with her.  Also...I keep my purse on me at all times and I don't carry a gun. She must have been pretty frazzled is my guess and what a price to pay.  RIP young mom.

  I remember hearing a similar story about Clinton too. It struck me, do these stories only come up with Democratic presidents? Don't want to start any Dem/Repub debate but it just struck me that I never heard of Bush getting approached by jdubs.

  Do JWs take Genesis literally?

  as i grew up as a jw it seemed that we accepted genesis was a literal account with the only question being how long a creative day was.

  for the longest time, as best as i can recall, a creative day was considered a thousand years long, based on the ole "a thousand years is as a day to jehovah" rule.. somewhere though, it seems that there was some waffling on how long a creative day was.

  especially since science was showing that the earth was millions of years old.. since i've faded i wonder, do jws today consider genesis as a literal account of how things were created, even if they can't explain the exact length of a creative day?.

  As a 'born in' I was taught that the creative days were an indeterminate length BUT the old study books were pretty definite about when Adam came about...or at least when the talking snake event happened...4026 BCE!  From that date the whole 1975 thing came about.  Also from that date you can do the math with all the begets and begats and wind up with the 'global flood' happening about 2370 BCE.  Yeah right! As was already discussed in prevuious comments that was not likely But really, as far as the Adam and Eve and talking snake account goes, they can never let that one go.  Their whole reason for Jesus coming hinges on that story. If you call Adam and Eve just a story/morality (?!?) tale or fable then so is Jesus....but wait...so IS Jesus.

  in 1966, he published an article, our unforgiveable trespass, in the journal clinical pediatrics, in support of jw parents denying their children blood transfusions and that article was used by the wts in their 1973 publication directed to the medical community - jehovah's witnesses alternatives to blood transfusions.. .

  Wow, all I ever knew about Kevorkian was that he was Oregon's own Dr. Death for the states first assisted suicide. Very interesting info on his past there.

  I think I would have gone to my father's memorial if I'd been treated differently when I DID go to see him. He was diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer in March of 2012 and I got a ticket and flew down to see him in May at some cost to myself I might add. I spent 6 weeks with my sister and other family members all of us pleading to be allowed to see dad...I was not allowed on his doorstep and he wouldn't speak to me via phone or e-mail as per GB directions (which my step mother made very certain he followed). I will add right here that before stepmother got involved he HAD been speaking to me and had asked me to come down when he found out about the cancer.

  My other siblings got pretty much the same treatment even though some of them had never been baptized. A lot or most of this I place sqarely upon my stepmother, a pschopathically selfish woman....and JW in 'good standing' but the GB I blame also.

  Today I think I would be resolved not to attend any JW memorial even of family members...why would I when they treat me as dead while I'm living?

  What a despicable religion Jehavah's witnesses are, not the individual people...well, *cough* maybe a few are truly despicable ...but the organization, yes.
