there used to be a time when one knew who the president of the watchtower society was, and with that in mind, one could sense some kind of leadership.

perhaps witnesses then, felt that "the society" was keeping up with jehovah's celestial chariot.

maybe you felt in the 80s and 90s that you had to keep "in step with jehovah's organization" because it was making bigger steps each year - and with each new release, maybe you felt "privileged" to be a part of the "spiritual paradise.".

To current JWs/those who still go to meetings,etc - how is your faith? 5 Qs

i know its stupid of me to post a new topic when i haven't finished reading my first thread, but i wanted to know stuff about any current jws that may be here.

you don't need to reply if you want to tell me off or say something o/t.

you can use my first thread for that, since that thread is more general.

How much of my faith has weakened? well my faith in the WTS has being completely gone, but my faith in God and Jesus has become stronger, I now feel a personal relationship with him that I never had before, my mediator between me and God is Jesus, not the Elders or the FDS.

What was it due to? Mainly the truth about 607bce and 1914. I read both of Ray Fransis books too. I found all this from the Internet.

Have you tried to bring your doubts to any one? & with what results? Yes I have. Very carefully. My wife mainly, she is slowly coming round. I speak to others in the hope of putting little thoughts in there minds, but I don't really know what results it will have. I think It will be a long term thing, hopfully they will think about things.

What things do you doubt? I suppose its everything that the WTS teaches and the way of life they expect us to lead. Mainly I doubt "the last days " thingy.. I do beleive the kingdom will come, but I or the WTS don't know when.

What things I still beleive in? Everything that is in the Bible, but not the teachings that are unique to the WTS. eg. Blood. 144,000. Disfellowshipping. Elders. I don't beleive in Hell, or the Trinity, there are other religions who also don't believe in these, the WTS gave us the impression that there isn't and all relgions believe in hell and the trinity but thats not true.

If you preach? I do not preach, I cannot preach something that I don't believe, I was a pioneer for 7 years because I believed in what I was preaching, I give a report to keep the "loving" Elders of my back.

What are my plans? To stay there for now, wait till my 2 teenage girls have grown up and then I will probably leave on my own account. I won't allow them to get batized, but I think its good that they learn about God and the Kingdom, the Elders and others treat young girls OK as long as there are NOT batized. I'll never trust elders them with young girls.

i remember the first time i saw it with another jw couple who had already seen it.

i was stunned at the language, and they seemed like such as nice jw couple.

I'm in the same boat as tweetybird. I give just enought hours to get the elders away..just 4 or 5 hours. and my whole family and friends are JW's, so i don't want to loose that, they have the "loving" arrangement called Disfellowshipping. Its not that hard putting on the act, its actually fun at times because you know the truth about the truth but they don't. you know why so many of the JW's have problems, personnal problems, depression etc... you can see threw the Self- rightousness. I'm like on the outside looking in.

catholic church

hi well here in massachusetts where i live they were announcing catholilc churches that would be closed, due to lack of priests, and financial difficulties due to the lawsuits.

i was thinking about jw's and how they like this, they talk about look at the catholic church and what they do.

i am not defending the catholic church, but used to get pissed when my ex and his parents would talk about how wrong the catholic churches and other churches are.

The JW's do a good job of exposing the Lies and Faults of other religions and they claim they are the truth, but they only really just replace those lies with other lies and they do a BETTER JOB of covering their faults and protecting themselves. They are also very clever at using scriptures in a way that suits themselves. They allways a find a scripture to support their actives no matter how unchristian is appears to be.

Unusual things that happen during prayers

it's a nice warm summer in a welsh sea-side town and the chairman is giving the concluding prayer.

he starts to slow down and then there is a pause.

it lasts long enough to make you open your eyes and lookup in time to see him wobbling backwards and forwards.. two brothers leap to the platform and catch him as he is about to pass out but then, in a rediculous scene, instead of helping him to a chair they prop him up between them and one of them carries on with the prayer!
