What Watchtower Belief Is The Silliest To You???

I am going to "absolutely" say that it is the "dress code for women" AND them(JW's) contradicting themselves when some one is not following it.

I studied with the Witnesses for about 8 months. At no point did I attend mettings in what was considered dress code. I wore nice, dress clothes, often things I designed & made myself. "real nice pantsuits, skorts, coullotts, dresses slightly above my knee.... no jeans or sweats or anything like that"

I went to lunch & a tour of the Patterson facility dressed in a pink pantsuit that I designed & made, and was "complemented on it", by numerous people including the Circut Overseer's wife.... saying "I was so creative"

"They make up their own rules about the dress code".... someone else was told she could not come with us because she & her daughter had on pants(jeans)

first do witnesses's believe in miricles?

i had something happen a few days ago that i can not explain by "earthly standards", i would have to say god did it, & to thank him for it.

Second part to the question, does the Watchtower Society accept donations? I see nothing on their "official website" giving an address to send a donation or contribution to! How do they fund their website?

They had a real good article on there about "sexual harrassment", directed toward teenagers. I printed it out & used it for something. I usally like to make a small donation when I do something like that.

The dress code, especially for women. You are to wear a dress or skirt at all times. No pants "ever".

I actually saw a picture in a Watchtower a few months ago that showed some children playing soccer. There was a little girl in the picture wearing jeans/pants, dressed like the little boys she was playing with. That was the FIRST time I saw something like that!

Actually, I do remember the 1960's & "segregation". I lived through that period. That was mostly in the south. I am from a suburb of New York. The town she lives in, although in Connecticut, is only an hour or so away. I doubt if they ever had "segregation" here.

You can go everywhere else in town that you want to go, EXCEPT The Kingdom Hall. No"minorities" are welcome there. (according to this woman)

The elders have to be aware of this. They see no Blacks (or other minorities) in the congegation, but there are Blacks, etc. in the town & surronding area. Do they just "assume" none of them are Witnessess?

I wonder what the "Circut Overseer" thinks, when he see's no minorities in the congregation?

She had some Oriental woman she "tricked" into staying with the old woman. She was mad because she got tricked, not paid for her work, and became abusive to the old woman. At one point she got so violent they had to get her out of the house immediatly, leaving her clothes, possessions, and everything behind. They did not call the Police and the "Witness" advised her friend not to tell anyone what happened, not even her family knows about it.

Then they just placed another "deceptive" ad in the newspaper, again & found someone else. (the old woman told me this)

I have never seen a Witness like this in my life!

i am really new in this forum so i hope to enjoy all of your companion...i saw a picture in a watchtower article and i just want to see if my mind is playing games...i would like to see your opinion on a strange picture i caught on the watchtower article on page 10 of the 3/15 issue.unfortunately i do not have a scanner so i will try to be as best descriptive as possible...page 10 has 4 sets of pictures...in the picture down right there is a pole of either greek or roman influence...i can see 3 faces on the top part of that pole...2 human and 1 animalistic (possibly a horse)...is another "coincidence"?

?this whole subliminal thing is really getting weird...i would like to hear opinions about the specific photo since its relatively new and in general about these "strange" "coincidences".

The "look" of the picture with the 3 faces/heads could be an intentional (sublimial) take off on a piece of art work by a 16th century painter named Titian called the "Allegory of Prudence". It was often used in Renesance art.

The theme, 3 heads(animal & man), express/convey ideas of TIME, experience & PRUDENCE. Is the article on that topic? Does it discuss the virtue of "prudence"? Then the picture was done that was "intentionally".

Complement on the art work in the Watchtower!

i have been saying numerous bad things about a "witness" these past few days, it's time to say something "good".. i am an artist and teach at the college level.

one of my favorite "genre" of art is "allegory", the reprentation of religious themes.

the "art work" used in the watchtower is of high quality.

I am an Artist and Teach at the College level. One of my favorite "genre" of art is "allegory", the reprentation of religious themes. The "art work" used in the Watchtower is of high quality. I have had the opportunity(through friends that were Witnesses) to visit the Societies "art department" and see how the pictures/paintings were produced in Patterson, New York.

Although the articles repeat themselves and are at about a Middle School reading level, the "Art Work" they use is definately at a College Level, showing a high level of skill!

Someone asked if I had evidence. I have evidence of something else she was doing that I sent to the local Human Rights Commission.(in hopes of them preventing the newspaper from continuous ads like it) Her and a friend were running a "scam".

She put an ad in the local newspaper for a "roommate" (room for rent situation) Then she calls you back and says it is for her friend an older woman, who she breifly introduces you to. She tells you she is spry, full of life, and able to care for herself.

Turns out her 87 year old friend is looking for live-in "elderly care" and not willing to pay someone to do it. The old woman can not walk, bath or dress herself, prepare her own meals, deaf in both ears, goes to the bathroom all over herself, and does not leave the house. You end up, pretty much,"trapped" in the house taking care of the woman. She yells at you & threatens to "call the Police" if you leave her there by herself.

The ad is a "fraud" to get someone to stay there in the house with her. You are almost "kiddnapped". She has "pulled" this on several people. Something you would not expect from a "Witness", she is a big LIAR.

I hope they do something about her!

I am in a very "racist" section of Connecticut. I have been here for about 6 months.

Yes, of course I know her name. Her son lives in the house next door. She is around all the time.

The Witness was/is a "racist". I was told by her that I could not go to the local Kingdom Hall, or have a copy of the Watchtower or Awake because I was Black. And that the Bible was not for Blacks because they were too dumb to understand it.

I am not a Witness, but had family members who were ones. I "often" do read the Watchtower and Awake articles, and have go to the Kingdom Hall (in other areas) with friends and relatives.

This is the first time I have had this experience. You usally can't stop them from bringing you "more and more" Watchtowers and Awakes once you have taken one they have offered you.
