Has anyone looked into the Coca Cola company to see if they have any histories relating to William Heath Sr. and Jr.?

Letter From Society Say Going To a JW/Non-JW Wedding Has Consequences!
by minimus inmy mother called me in a tizzy saying that her friend heard that letters were read and a talk was given in 2 different congregations saying that the society's new policy is that if a elder, m.s.
or pioneer attends an "unequaled" wedding----they will be removed from their exemplary positions because they are "disloyal to jehovah god"........what do you think about this one?

If this information is contained in an official letter from the Society to the body of elders, then perhaps a liberal elder will make a copy of it and post it so that all can see. However, when I was an elder it wasn't uncommon for Circuit Overseers to misinterpret the meaning of the Society's encyclicals. Later, after much damage was done, a clarification would arrive from the service department indicating that there must have been a misunderstanding of the original instructions.

No Trespassing!! Breaking news for local JW's.
by Mulan inthis week at the book study, at all congregations in the u.s., a letter was read saying if you go to a house or property with a "no trespassing" sign, you must not enter, or knock on the door.
you have to leave immediately.
a sign saying "no solicitors" is too ambiguous, and they are to use their own judgment, and don't have to knock.

I don't think the JWs in my area do much door to door work. I've lived at my current address for almost 4 years and they have never called at my door or left any literature in my driveway.

If that is the right William Heath, then he was much younger than I thought. Good research Leolaia.

Were Russell's Associates Who Went To Prison Considered Faithful To The End
by minimus inthe watchtower regularly states that russell and his associates were truth seekers and that god considered them faithful watchmen, anxious to see the fulfillment of bible prophecies in the time of the end......my question is----did these folks (according to watchtower requirements) remain "faithful" or did they deviate from the "truth"?
if a number did not remain faithful, wouldn't this obviously show that the watchtower was once again purposely misleading people into believing that russell's group was used by jehovah to enlighten his people???

Robert Hirsh left the Watch Tower in 1917 and with Paul Johnson and Raymond Jolly founded the Laymen's Home Missionary Movement.

Who Does Jehovah Resemble?
by Englishman inas a small boy, i pictured jehovah as resembling finlay currie, the kindly old boy who played roles in solomon & sheba and the 10 commandments.. .
later on, probably thanks to paul hogans influence, i started to picture jehovah as resembling charlton heston.. .
i still picture him as a bearded gentleman, wearing a dressing gown and sandals, surrounded by billowing clouds.. then again if i think of the creator, or lord, he doesn't seem to be the same entity as jehovah.. strange, isn't it?.

The Jehovah of the Watch Tower is very much like Judge Rutherford. No doubt they are the same person.

Thanks for the research Blondie and Lady Lee. I wonder why Boyd and Heath, two people who were very prominent in Watch Tower affairs during the Rutherford era, receive only brief mention in Witness publications, while lesser personages receive a three to four page story? Macmillan even had a book ghost written for him.

Hi Minimus,
In regard to your question, I believe it was Rutherford and his associates who went to prison, though they were originally followers of Pastor Russell.
Of the Watch Tower Eight who were sentenced to Federal prison in 1918, one resigned from the Watch Tower editorial board in 1922. This was Fredrik H. Robison. Robison attended Franklin College, Butler College, the Winona technical Institute, and the John Herrin Art Institute. His linguistic talents included Spanish, French, German, Japanese, as well as New Testament Greek. About a year after he came in contact with Russell's works he was invited to Watch Tower headquarters, then located in Allegheny, Pennsylvania. He then became Russell's private secretary. When Russell transferred his operations to New York State in 1909, Robison was made secretary in charge of foreign work. After Russell's death Robison stayed with the Watch Tower, serving on the magazine's editorial board. After his release from prison in 1919 Robison resumed his work on the Watch Tower editorial board.
However, after coming in contact with the Concordant Publishing Concern and their Bible translation the Concordant Version, Robison found that he had more in common with their belief system than with the Watch Tower under Rutherford. Therefore, his position in Rutherford's organization became precarious and he resigned in 1922. Had he chosen to do so Robison could have been a formidable opponent, possibly forcing Rutherford to make concessions. Instead of fighting inside the Watch Tower, Robison stood up for his beliefs by assisting the Concordant group.
So according to the Watch Tower's definition of "Faithful to the End," Fredrik H. Robison would have missed the boat that carried Rutherford and his cronies to their reward.

Thanks VM44 and Earnest for the information on Hazel Burford. I see that in my post I wasn't specific as to the information I wanted. Actually I already have the Hazel Burford story. It was the Bonnie Boyd and William Heath story that I wanted. I believe it appeared in the mid 1950s in the Watch Tower. If you could locate it for us it would be very helpful.
Again thanks for the posting the Hazel Burford story as it will be interesting reading for those who aren't familiar with JFR's last days.

Interesting point Earnest. Maybe you can answer another question. Hazel Burford, one of Rutherford's nurses during his last days at Beth Sarim, related her experiences in the Watch Tower back in the 1950s. Bonnie Boyd and William Heath did the same. Could you please check your library for the exact year and month in which this story appeared in the Watch Tower magazine? Right now I don't have access to those magazines.
