I hope that I am not the only Episcopalian who posts here. But the Episcopal Church USA, though not a state church in the US, is part of the Anglican Communion as is the Anglican Church of Canada, the Church of England, etc. My ex-girlfriend, who converted from the Roman Catholic Church to the Episcopal Church, liked to call us "Catholic Lite" because our services were similar to the Roman but without all the restrictions. For example Communion is not exclusive, but open to all baptised Christians. Divorced persons are not excommunicated. Both men and women can serve as priests and bishops, something you will never see in the JWs.

episcopalian religion
by BlackSwan of Memphis ini just started reading this book dance of the dissident daughter.
the author tells how she went from being a devout baptist to being confirmed in the episcopalian church.. i am wondering how the epsicopalian church differs in theology and tradition from other churches.. this author sounds very liberal (i know that word just doesn't sit well with some sorry).
thx.

Who knows what you will find if you follow the money trail. Might even be a front for an organized crime syndicate.

Have any of you seen the movie "The Village"?
by Lady Liberty inabout a month ago a movie was on cable called "the village".
it was a freaky movie, and i was a little uncomfortable watching it, but nothing ever happened that made me turn the channel.
turns out there is quite a twist in the end which explained the freakyness.

Entertaining yourself during the meetings

Sometimes I would practice my Latin during the meetings. I would try to translate the Scriptures cited by the speakers into Latin. You know the meetings might have been much more interesting if the speakers had given their talks in Latin.

When on holiday in the US my ex-wife and I never attended the KHs at the places we visited. However, we did attend a couple of KHs when we visited Canada. Though the people spoke with a different accent, the JW service was still the same old stuff they peddle in the USA.

What's your present belief ?
by JH in.
without attacking anyone for their beliefs, feel free to state what you believe in right now.. personally, i still believe in a higher power, a creator, call him jehovah if you wish, a god that will put things back right eventually.

Government interference in the Watchtower's shunning policy will only bring cries of persecution by the GB and may even strengthen their hold on the rank and file. Bad publicity and economic pressure are still the best methods to use against the Watchtower corporation. Keep in mind that the Watchtower is not really a religion but a publishing house, a business. Therefore, if bad PR affects the bottom line, the business must make positive changes to get back their share of the market.
