A DAMM FINE IDEA
by josephus ini was just re-reading coc by ray franz, and had an idea.
as a jw i was allways concerned when the number of annointed went up in the yearly report, so this year why dont we all find halls that dont know us (if we are shy) and partake.. thousands of "new annointed" would put the shits up the society!, and the brothers!
please tell me what you think as im quite excited anout this idea.. .

I think it would be a great idea. Don't know if all the new partakers would be included in the official count that the elders send to the Vatican, I mean Brooklyn, but we could drink up all their wine and eat all the crackers. I don't know what the elders would do if they ran out of wine and crackers. Would they have to send someone to Safeway to buy more before they could finish the Memorial?
Sincerely,

Background of those leaving
by freedom96 inwho are the majority that are leaving?.
are they those who grew up as witnesses, and this generation realized that this is not the true religion and leave?.
or maybe a witness who had a position of power, such as an elder or ms, or maybe had some insight from bethel, and saw too much?.

I left in 1984 after reading C of C. But being an elder, I was able to see all the politics that went on in the Organization. Ray Franz's book confirmed my doubts.

Storming the Baracades
by searcher ini have been reading a lot of threads/posts where people are trying to fade quietly, and are being ' picked off ' one at a time by the new policy of contacting ' inactive ones '.. my thoughts on this are, why wait to be 'picked off' ?.
if the wt is going to df/da people anyway, why not a mass da by all sending in letters at the same time ?.
the wt is using a tactic of attrition, keeping people isolated from the flock and dealing with them one at a time, this looks good in the stats.

Back in 1989 a JC from my old congregation decided that since I hadn't attended meetings in over 5 years that I had disassociated myself. I don't think that this recent purge of inactive ones is a new policy.

Why is the WTBTS Dumbing Down?
by hillbilly inhave you noticed the watchtower's slow drift into another self-destructive trap of their own design?
i know i will get a couple of responses from some.
the opinions will generally come from two camps: the society will never die because there will always be ones willing to write a mental "blank check"and embrace "god" through his "orginization".the society will prosper because it is god's orginzation in our times.. .

How Do YOU Help People Out Of The Watchtower?
by minimus inwhat have you personally done to help people come out of the watchtower?
are you actively speaking to your friends and/or family about what you now believe?
were you disfellowshipped for speaking out against jehovah's witnesses?
-
Athanasius
You can't get them out unless they want to come out.

Are elders more spiritual
by JH in.
are elders more spiritual or just better qualified to teach?
does the watchtower choose their leaders for their spirituality or their leadership?
-
Athanasius
Sometimes elders are selected because of their teaching ability. But most are chosen because they follow orders. Being buddies with the Circuit Overseer is a great help too.

I was in only one split, and that was in 1965. Left in 1984 so I don't know if the congregations have made any more splits.

Did you follow instructions carefully?
by Outaservice inthe society reports millions of hours spent in the field service yearly.
when you were active did you follow theocratic instructions carefully and faithfully?.
did you stop for a coffee break and keep your time going?

When it came to counting time, I always rounded up, never down. I think most in our congregation did the same.
