- .- .- .- .- .- .- . Why is the human mind so dishonest?
by frankiespeakin inour brains makes us superior to the rest of animal life on earth,,but only in a limited sense.. .
with our minds we can think, plan, work out problems and such,, but would not the mind be a much more useful tool if it could just be honest?
why if our brains are so developed,,why is it we can't be honest with ourselves?

frankie..turn off the sci fi channel.. star trek marathons are evil lmao..
i think being dishonest with ourselves is a coping mechanism.. life is hard and unlike animals we have to live with and think about our mistakes daily. if a little delusion makes it easier to bear then ok. plus after the life i've had a little fantasy beats real life ANY DAY!

We're not Suitable!
by Gill inmy husband and myself used to be witnesses, but not for quite a long while now.
every last member of both our families are witnesses so i guess we're the proverbial black sheep, but we haven't been disfellowshiped or have me disassociated, just drifted quietly away.. my husbands grandfather, who is ninety-seven now, suffered a stroke a year ago.
he spent several months in hospital.

"Obesity Awake- Nov. 8, 2004"
by dothemath ini've heard many comments about cong.
members won't be presenting this mag..........it's a touchy subject, not to mention the advice in the awake isn't any different than advice from dr. phil, oprah, etc... etc........... one interesting obversation- at the end of the article it doens't say to just "wait on god's kingdom".........this is how the very last paragraph goes.......... "where there's a will, there's a way.
do you have the motivation to do something about it?

well i now have a male friend who is a historian of sorts..
he shows me old sculpture and artwork where heavy women were viewed as goddesses
historical references where a mans worth was measured by his wifes girth.
its only been in the past 100 yrs or so that thin women have been " in"
so.. dont tell him any different..he thinks i'm a goddess and loves me just the way i am. he says sweet things like i could be old and bald thin or fat and the beauty inside would always shine thru..
of course..he's heavily medicated on morphine because he's disabled............maybe its the drugs talkin lol

Why didn't we help these women?
by Tatiana inin the eastern democratic republic of the congo, women are enduring unspeakable acts of violence while the world remains largely unaware.
"they cut me with knives and machetes.
then they asked my sons to hold my legs and hands apart and started raping me--all eight of them.

i agree with gill.. the western countries dont intervene because theres no oil or resources to gain from them.
there are humanitarian agencies working their butts off to make a difference. finding one of them to support may help.

my ex got mad at walmart for overcharging him for something so he recouped his losses by putting 40 lb bags of dog food on his lower rack on his buggy and unloading the rest of the buggy leaving the dog food there.. his reasoning " they owed him" and if the worker was doing his/her job they would have noticed it.
i found out he did this several times over the course of one summer..
