a producer with nbc in new york called within the past hour to tell me that the segment i interviewed for (once in nashville, tn in august and once in washington, dc in october) is set to air tonight on nbc nightly news with brian williams, that is, if no huge calamity takes place to bump the feature.

this piece will be two minutes and 45 seconds long, the longest slot nightly news has for topics of interest, and will feature a discussion about the court documents that are found on the cd i recently produced, "secrets of pedophilia in an american religion, jehovah's witnesses in crisis.

in addition, nbc's internet site, msn, will follow with a detailed story.

especially the comment " In the United States over 80,000 elders currently serve in over 12.300 congregations. During the last 100 years, only 9 elders have been sued for child abuse in eleven lawsuits filed in the United States."

wow that doesnt sound bad at all does it?

sued by individuals..maybe thats true.. the lawyers for the watchtower tickle our ears with cleverly worded statements... what does that fantastic number not include? accused? tried or convicted in court by cities or states? does that count men like Jesus Cano? does that include the alleged 23,000 accused molestors on file at Watchtower headquarteres in new york? does that include men like the recent elder in england that was convicted? Rick Mclean?

Second paragraph, second sentence: quote: " Our elders expel unrepentant sinners who commit this crime. "

That means as we all already KNOW, "repentant" ones are not disfellowshipped, they are allowed to go door to door, with children, where children might answer the door, they may be allowed to babysit, go to sports events with children etc. as we KNOW, if a repentant molestor is not disfellowshipped, the congregation is NOT warned, the parents in the congregation are NOT warned. the community is not warned and if the state that this happens in does not have mandated clergy reporting, it will not be reported to the authorities.

the last sentence in paragraph two of the above link the watchtower officials state " the incidence of this crime among Jehovah's Witnesses is rare"

more double talk? how many of us have heard.. "if they're disfellowshipped and doing disfellowshippable crimes.. they arent really Jehovah's witnesses are they?"

it isn't rare when most if not ALL posters here are aware of someone in their congregation that was molested.

It angers me to no end that because of Watchtower rules my adult child cannot talk to me because I post here but she can with the blessing of the Watchtower society talk to a repentant molestor with no problem whatsoever.

Jehovah's Witnesses Celebrates Thanksgiving

every year we (non-jw family) have thanksgiving at my grandma's house, all the jw family comes over on friday to eat left overs or take a plate home.

ok i think i've posted before on here about how thats a load of crap, it's still thanksgiving dinner no matter what.

i just heard that a family member who is the family jw nazi, is coming to my grandma's on thanksgiving day!!

i had more turkey and dressing dinners on thanksgiving as a jw than i've had since i left the religion.

go figure.

Any experiences dealing with Jw's and Barbara's Pedo CD?

in a conversation with a non jw about the cd and some of the stuff i read on it.. he made the comment " why are you so shocked they were involved in coverups and settlements? you jw's think you're religion is so unique, everyone else in the world realizes you're just like everyone else. the good the bad and the ugly"

i reminded him i wasnt a jw anymore but pretty much agreed with the comment.

On Sunday, the builders handed the family a Bible, then an interfaith prayer book, then a copy of the Koran. The prayers and good wishes for them and their house came in several languages: Arabic, Hebrew, Sanskrit, English and French. There was even singing.

all of us know that the watchtower encourages its members to use any kind of assistance they qualify for, how many pioneers are on food stamps? how many jw mothers are on wic and their childrens insurance is paid by the state? nothing wrong with signing up and qualifying for habitat for humanity house. what is so shocking to me, the recipients and the other jw's in the crowd participated in a church service. that is a disfellowshipping offense. accepting literature printed by other religions is a disfellowshipping offense. now, burgertime is from that area, maybe he'll let us know how many of the attendee's are disfellowshipped in the days to come.

internet people only have the power you give them, so dont give them the power to hurt your feelings.

i always remember the old saying.. "opinions are like assholes, everyone has one" and don't take stuff personal.

single JW's and sex

i am if it is the norm, but in my teenage years i must admit, i ahd no problem in going beyond kissing with quite a few jw girls, some even pioneers and talking to some fellow male jw teenagers at the time, many other where for sure going beyond kissing, makes you wonder how many jw's who get married are actually virgins, on a side note i also landed up in front of a committe one time for well bonking and hey i am sure they only do these so that they can here all the nitty gritty of illicit sex for soem reason or another, by the way i pulled the wool over their eyes and still remaind a bit of alad, lol.

dunno how younger girls think NOW but back when i was a teen the mindset was " why not go all the way? i'd get disfellowshipped for holding hands or sitting beside him at the assembly or meeting"

when the penalty is so harsh for small things, it makes it a lot easier to cross the line and do the bigger things. "if i'm gonna do the time , i'm gonna do the crime" mindset.
