Brother, but how does doing the therapy 'fix' the problem in the verebrae? I am fully in favor of avoiding surgery, but also afraid to put it off because I could be in worse shape down the road. This is SO hard. I do appreciate your input and hope to hear more.

Hi guys, I'm asking for your support as I face a frightful event...back surgery. I have been in
excrutiating pain for about 6 weeks due to the L2-3 herniation. I have had problems only since
last November and it has progressed to a horrible sciatic nerve pain that does not go away. I'm
on a painkiller, doing exercises and anything I can to feel better. Today I found out I will see the
neurosurgeon on April 12 and he will do surgery the next day if necessary. I have talked to anyone
I know who has had to do this, and am following a friend's referral to this dr. She assures me he is
not 'knife happy' and will direct me to alternate therapy if possible. But so far my chiropractor, GP, and
an orthopedist that I saw (hoping that was my problem) have told me to expect surgery and that I should
have good results.
I have always been healthy, taken care of myself but these last few years I have dealt with colon cancer
(doing just fine, 6 yrs hence) followed 2 yrs later by adhesions which put me in the hospital for 2 weeks.
This back thing makes me empathize with those who have to live with daily pain their entire lives. God
help them. I'd like to hear from anyone about your experiences with back surgery, good and bad..and please
keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

Do this in remembrance of me - Memorial thoughts
by AuntieJane ini live one block from the kh.
we were gone last weekend and i was disappointed to see that we'd been visited by the jw's.
actually, they hit both front and back doors of our house.. a double bonus in counting time for some lucky doorknocker!

Needproof, thanks for posting. However, I am not here to instruct those who believe or follow whatever paths they choose. And if Christians copied others, so be it. I would not doubt if what you say is true, I have read comparisons. BUT..
The fact that Christians profess a belief that Jesus taught us to "Do this in remembrance of me" as he broke the bread, passed it, and did the same with the wine...the fact that Christians, who JW's believe they are, by the way....accept this INSTRUCTION of JESUS for what it says, is my point. If JW's consider themselves Christian, they have an odd way of twisting the words of CHRIST himself, just to make their own twisted teachings seem real. All (I suppose I should say MOST) Christians, be it Methodist, Presybterian, Church of God, Catholic...All are taught that Jesus meant we are to do as he did and do it in remembrance of him. What he was doing at the time he said this is breaking bread, sharing, and loving with his friends, even though he would be betrayed. Taking the Bread, which he called My Body, and sharing of it. He was giving us the Example of Love as a rule to follow.
sorry to ramble on,
AJ

When I read others post here that they got their Invitation...is this the same that I am referring to? I had thought
the invitations they write about would be personal. I was very surprised to get one, is this normal? I've lived here
20 some years and don't recall getting one before.
I would think they would not want the general public coming to this service; it is so odd to me that JW's sit and refuse the
bread and wine/juice when it is passed. If I was to go to the Memorial, unknowing, I think my shock at passing
the tray and not partaking would be hard to conceal. I would probably stupidly take and eat and take and drink, just as
we are instructed in God's word! duh!

Hi
by rosiegurl inmy name is rosie.
i'm 36, have 3 kids and was raised in the 'truth'.. since i was about 18 i realized that things weren't quite 'right' but stuck around mostly because my family is so much a part of it that if i left i'd have nobody.
i've been df'd 2 times...got reinstated the last time with the intention to just drift away after so that i could stay around my family and do my own thing.

Rosie, first of all Welcome! And 2ndly, how awesome that you are not only seeing the real 'light' but are able to
communicate with your son. I know of some who question the teachings but don't, for whatever reasons, talk
to their kids directly about it. Thus, the kids are kind of left floundering to try and figure things out for themselves,
and deal with all the psychological damage alone as well. God bless you for your strength and wisdom!
Also, my sister lived in Sonoma county, rural, her address was Suisun. She was not JW, just thought I'd share
the connection with you.
Peace to you and yours,
AJ (you might like to read my latest topic, Do this in Remembrance of me)

I live one block from the KH. We were gone last weekend and I was disappointed to see that we'd been visited by the JW's. Actually, they hit both front and back doors of our house.. a double bonus in counting time for some lucky doorknocker! I was disappointed that I could not
attackdialogue with them about the pamphlets they left inside our doors."We invite you to remember the greatest man who ever lived..." WOW a special invitation. how nice, these people, wanting to tell others about Jesus and spread his word. But wait, the scripture that is quoted, Luke 22:19 says "keep doing this in remembrance of me". What was he referring to? To sum up this gospel, it states that we are to eat the bread and drink the cup just as Jesus did, and do it in remembrance of him.
I don't read where it says that we are to NOT drink the cup and NOT eat the bread unless we are of the annointed. I do not see where it says that we are to only do this once a year at a "memorial". I researched in several bibles and it always says the same "Do this in remembrance of Me."
Please if you are a practicing JW, consider this important message from Jesus and if you choose to go to the memorial this year; have the courage to speak up on the true meaning of these words. Who really was Jesus, is what this pamphlet asks. Well, he was a man who stated the rules pretty simply; he did not need an interpreter from the Watchtower Society to change his words into something else.
Happy Easter to all,
AJ

Tryin2: Welcome and stay around. This will be a healthy place for you! I have never been in your shoes but I do know
that staying positive and not looking back at what could have, should have, etc. in Life is usually the best route.
I'll keep you in my prayers as you travel this journey. Keep strong.

My boyfriend is a JW and we want to get married but I want him to get OUT
by blueday ini'm am so heart broken to see my boyfriend with so many internal strugles.
he is a good man, a good god fearing man and this is why it has been so difficult for him to leave the jw's religion.
we love each other so much and we want to be married but he fears the consequences of marring somebody who is not a jw.

Seven years is a LONG time. What do you think the next seven will be like if you continue with him? Truly think about it.
He needs to find someone else who will take him in, you deserve someone who will give you 110%. Believe me, love
is not about submissiveness, stress over religion, etc. etc. TAKE charge of your life, listen to these people on the
board. Find someone who is either of your same faith or who is willing to go with you into a faith that the two of you
agree on, TOGETHER.
Take Care,
AJ

Is it wise to wake someone sleepwalking into the Watchtower trap?
by Gill inis there a time not to speak out?.
is there a time when it might be better not to say something and put doubts into someone's mind?.
we, as a family are 'faded' for well over five years now.

Make a cake or a batch of cookies and give them a call. You'll be glad you did it, whether they follow your advice or not. Something simply like "We followed the JW teachings for ____years and we wish now that someone had visited us like this, so I hope you'll understand why I want to express my concerns to you." You're getting lots of good advice here, I wish you the best! Let us know how it goes.
