Besides the Fraud issue, I agree maybe you should talk w. your significant other about the real need for life insurance at this time. I remember the years we were paying those premiums when we could barely buy groceries! Not really necessary until you have the $$ for it, or the job w. benefits. Take your time.

um... help please from any medical types
by lauralisa inthis is a bit off topic, but i hope someone might give me a little insight on a delicate matter here.. my significant other has applied for life insurance, and of course must have the obligatory "home visit" where they take his blood pressure, blood sample, pee sample, etc.. we are barely making ends meet as it is, and are trying to sign him up a a non-smoker.
(he's gonna quit, anytime now.
i swear.

OK, I'll try it:
1) I asked your mother if you were at home; She said, yeah, but you weren't alone.
somehow I think that you're avoiding me........
2) I hear her voice, in the morning hour she calls me.
Radio reminds me of my home far away.
3) MMM. You know, you know what I'm saying.
Can't stand still while the music is playing.

Clearing Things Up
by mindfield inno, this isn't another childish photoshop prank.. in the past day(s), probably many of you have noticed the facility that i had to lash out unnecessarily at other people.
i've insulted people who came to support me, i've embarassed myself, gone into arguments that i couldn't win, made a pretty flagrant face-about, and generally, made an ass of myself.
and for that i'm sorry.. to tell the truth, the last day (s) has/ve been a nightmare of sorts.

MINDFIELD~ Glad to know you took charge and made some positive efforts, and didn't beat yourself up too much! Life is a bitch at times, that's all there is to it. After 52 years, 32 married years, things happen and I just live and learn and go on and hope for those positives. Sometimes they're not so easy to find, but they are there.
Have a Great Week :-)

For all x-JW's: quick question.....
by Kathy inif you remember, i've been inquiring about how to discuss jw issues with my boyfriend's sister.
it appears she is accepting the watchtower driven interpretations of the bible, but we are still not giving up.
if you are willing, would you respond, in a nutshell, to the question, "what is the doctrine or belief that the jw's hold that was most instrumental in leading you to abandon this religion?

Kathy, Something that I found fairly simple helped one of my JW friends. If she has any previous bible background, this might help.
I asked them if the Bible held the Truth; yes..etc. Did they believe in the Faith of our Fathers...that they followed the Bible, etc. to learn the right way? Then I had several bibles there and looked up any verses that related to the Deity of Christ. It is so obvious that the Bible that generations of Christians has followed is NOT the Bible that the JW's preach..the NWT. They made up their own...which goes exactly against what the Bible tells us...NOT to obscure God's word.
Good Luck to you.

SUICIDE IN KH PARKING LOT
by Sabine inlast saturday, a former ministerial servant and pioneer committed suicide in the woodinville washington kingdom hall parking lot.
he was disfellowshipped several years ago, and according to the old sister that related the story to me today, he was depressed because no one would talk to him.
i don't know how i kept calm when she explained to me that "we couldn't talk to him...he was disfellowshipped.".

Sabine,
Thank you for sharing this sad story. The "Truth" really hurts, more than some of us can ever know. I've had several close friends who have lost children through accidents or illness and it is truly a mother's worst nightmare. I would think that this mother would welcome your sympathy, and an understanding hug...no words would really be needed.
I'm fairly new here and would love to hear about your daughter sometime when you are inclined to tell us about her. God Bless you!

The Pope forgives molested children!- Some Satire
by xenawarrior ini don't know if anyone has posted this yet.

SIMON I would ask that you re-title this. It is a very misleading Title and does not comply with the statement on the Subject line "Please use a title that clearly describes the subject..."....This is from a SATIRICAL publication.

How about Home Schooling?
by joannadandy inok first off this is the first time i have ever made up a topic.
secondly, i was reading another thread about teen development and the borgs control over adolescents, and that got me to thinking.
i dont know what anyone elses experiences were like in their congregations but 85% of the kids in my hall were home schooled their entire lives, or were taking correspondence courses instead of attending high school.

Anyone know of JW's who have private schools? My relatives in another state don't actually home school, but their kids and others go to someone's home for school. I've wondered how this is legal.
Would appreciate any input.
