Hello ScrappyKat!!!
by misspeaches ini would just like to send a big hug to my sister scrappykat who has just recently joined this board.
jwd has been such an eye opener and making me think and now hopefully she will experience the same things i have.
just having it reconfirmed in our minds that it is not the 'troof' can be so damned comforting!

Thx but I think prayer is the only help I can give. They live in CA, I'm in the midwest. She lives w. her single mom in order to help take care of a little sister. She does work as a hairdresser, though, so I do hope she "hears" a lot while she is out in the world! She is cute, sweet and has a great personality, and was brought into the JWdum when she was only about 10 years old.

New developement
by Shawn ini have a new situation in my circumstance.
sorry to keep bothering you all but i need help, a lot of help.
my friend finally came over today and we talked for a while.

Oh Shawn, I'm sorry to hear this; you have such a good heart, I wish she could see it like we do. You do need a break from this place, and stay away from JW talk with her. I am not sure about going to a KH, though. I tell you, those people can twist someone's beliefs big time. My niece told me she would NEVER let her brother convert her...I think it was a matter of weeks. These were young adults...the very same ones who stood by the door of the church at their own dad's funeral in Christian love!
Tread slowly, take care of yourself first, OK?

My father will lose his privileges if he attends my sister's wedding
by Goldminer inmy sister is planning on getting married within the next few months.her jw husband committed adultery and left her when their son was 7 weeks old.after getting a scriptural divorce she began a friendship with a "worldly" man and now this friendship has grown to a soon-to-be marriage.
this man studied with the jw's for a while but could see right through them found too many of their teachings didn't make sense so he stopped studying.he's made his stand with my sister and told her she can still attend meetings if she wants to.he's also a good worker and seems to really love the kids.he's not perfect but no worse than many jw husbands.
anyways, the elders pulled my dad aside on tuesday night and told him he could(could????!@#*?

How many have been harmed by such tactics?? " TRUE Christians should...must..." give me a BREAK! At my only brother's funeral, his two JW adult kids observed their own father's funeral while the True Christians joined in a beautiful celebration of his life.
"Love One Another as I have Loved You." It IS hard to follow this rule in these situations.

i'm pretty excited about this new job - and it's a very large company.

What the crap?~What kind of org teaches such fear that a person has to explain why they can't respond to a

to be a Dub, I don't know WHAT could change their mind.

to all new ones posting on this thread: Have you compared the NWT to any other Bible accepted by all other Christians? What does it say to you when the Bible JWs use has been drastically changed to reflect their teachings? The Bible actually tells us we are NOT to change God's word, but yet the WTS chose to change it and come out with its own version, SO SPECIAL THAT IT CAN ONLY BE OBTAINED FROM ANOTHER JW. It is not on the bookshelves available to all of us. Is this not a red flag??
I sincerely hope you all read C of C and stick around this board and follow the links and posts.
Shalom, AuntieJ
