  ok, here is something you haven't read on this board.

  i don't get on any other boards & not here very often but thought i'd get your reactions on this event in my life.

  my 24 yoa married daughter (2 years married) decided to go back to school to finish her degree.

  Thanks everyone. I know they are adults, and I have to just hope they are able to do this together. I am proud

  of her for wanting this, but in some ways I am skeptical because her nature is to try something for awhile and then

  lose interest. However, she LOVES cheerleading, being fit, dancing, and I think she is determined. I have 2 other

  single adults, both older than she is....they are pretty traditional thinkers, this one has been my sweet unexpected

  3rd child and never fails to keep things, well, interesting!

  IT REALLY did me good to hear so many positive remarks; I know I need to support them both, you've helped me a lot.

  OK, here is something you haven't read on this board. I don't get on any other boards & not here very often but thought I'd get your reactions on this event in my life. My 24 yoa married daughter (2 years married) decided to go back to school to finish her degree. The kicker is that she got a cheerleading scholarship and will be one of the top cheerleaders. The other kicker is that she will be living 6 hours away, so she and hubby will meet every few weeks as he is busy working. It broke me up when she first told me this is her dream, and he was OK with it. I tried to get her to look at closer schools but this one fits her purposes. They have no kids, I guess I am just a traditionalist but with the divorce rate growing higher and higher it concerns me. She worked on the idea for about a year, got her loans etc. and is now there at school.

  She's always marched to a different drummer, creatively, than the rest of the world, and that is why we all love her. But this worries me still. I know there are more crucial situations people deal with, but it has stressed me. I've accepted her decision, as long as her husband has, but I still don't like the distance thing.

  I Got The Phone Call Last Night - My Dad Died

  my mom called last night to tell me he passed on sunday.

  he died peacefully and fairly painlessly.

  my mom said she was talking with him, went to answer the phone, and 5 minutes later he was gone.

  Sorry for your loss, Brenda, but it was one of those blessings wasn't it. Alzheimer's is a death in itself.

  At any rate, I'm glad you're going; be supportive of your mother, she'll be glad for it. Some unasked for

  advice: don't overdo the 'look' just to make a statement. Just be there for mom, and make a statement that

  way. At any rate, you have my sympathy.

  Separated and dating a JW

  is the 1st time i write in here .

  am really confused about my jw boyfriend attitude .. am separated and with a child .i went through a really bad time after separation (7 months ago)and one of the reasons the relashionship wth my husband ended is because i fell in love with my actual boyfriend ..was love @1st sight ...we didnt make love 4 obvious reasons related to his faith but @the beginning things were much easier :he allowed me to touch him in his intimate parts ,we touched each other (we saw each other naked without making love once)and was very exciting...but the more we were getting involved the accraction was growing more and more and even if i am from a different belief (converted to islam)we agreed that nobody should try to change the other or impose anything ,,,but now i feel he is a bit selfish >he doesnt allow me to touch him under the belt (telling me that recently he discovered he is not allowed to do that )he doesnt even touch my breast because he is not supposed to(after he did before)he is 30 years old ,very good looking man and he keeps telling me when he sees me (once a month :which is even too much)that he cant resist me !but is actually the opposite !!

  !he is resisting me ...before i will be able to committ to him i will have to wait 3 years which means also have sex >i dont know and i dont think i will be able to resist after 5 years of marriage and ''regular'' sex life //i am tired of seeing him once a month because his family doesnt know about us (he tells me that if they knew they would tell him to stop helping them with money and to stay with me :but he doesnt wantto make that choice,since he was young he supported the family //on top of that after marriage he doesnt want to have children and he tells me that i have already 1 child (we spoke many times bout that and to make sure he wont have children he wants to do an operation that will sterilize him ).

  Girl I am going to be blunt. You are playing with fire. First of all, you are Islam and not ever going to change religion.

  so you say. Then do not date anyone except an Islam. forgodsakes don't bring more stress into your or your

  child's life by falling for guys who don't believe as you do. Raising a family is hard enough, much less mixing

  religions. Esp ones as extreme as JW and Islam. Your child needs more from you than this.

  doubt I'll make any dent but I have to give it an effort, it's a conscience thang ya know?

  Ok, I didn't know what to title this subject. But ...my question is: Exactly what does one

  do when they go to Bethel? Specifically, how long is the stay? Is it like a 6 week course?

  Are there classes all day long? My relative is going to go but I can't get any answer as to

  just what he'll be doing, or for how long. Would like hear from any of you with recent experience.

  Oh and what does it cost?

  MY BIRTHDAY TODAY...

  ...happy birthday to me....happy birthday to me..... hi everyone!

  we'll most likely do a nice dinner tonight as a family (husband, daughter and i), and i will have to buy my own cake.

  but we can never call it a birthday anything...the very mention of the term freaks him out!

  growth and freedom for you! Loving someone does not mean you have

  to stifle your own beliefs....nor hide them from your children. Teach your

  daughter open-mindedness in little ways so that she will see the world without

  the JW blinders. She has two parents, not just one. I wish you well this year...
