I missed it. I'm a 'fan' of Dr. L but sometimes she does like you said and speaks over the person, not letting them explain...and in this case she probably has no real clue what the JWs are all about. Too bad for the caller, I do hope that person does post here or gets some real help somewhere!

Spent a few days w. cousin and 12 year old daughter, both JW's, no others in family. Many of us on a short
trip together, it was fun. There were 3 times that their JW-ness was obvious, at least to me. Some maybe didn't really notice.
1) Playing a trivia game; a question about What things are associated with Halloween? AFter several shouted answers, my cousin shouts out, very loudly: IDIOTS! Ok....it was buried beneath other shouted answers but I heard it and knew what her point was!
2) Someone sneezed and another said the usual, "God bless you." Cousin proceeded to explain that "we" don't say God Bless you
because...blah blah blah. I was busy chatting w. others and could not stop conversation to listen, but noticed the ones hearing her out were
nodding their heads, like, Oh, yeah, ok, whatever!
3) Family members gave Grandma some scratch lottery tickets, the kids had fun passing them around and doing them for Grandma. Oh No, not the 12 yr old, Momma stopped her fast when her little hand reached out for one like the rest of the kids.
JUST SAD TO OBSERVE THESE GUILT-RIDDEN INSTANCES, I'm glad I'm not around it anymore than every few yrs. I would probably not be able to keep my mouth shut.

I am going to send my JW relative the C of C book. With it I am going to enclose some postings
from this board. I'd love for you to post here directly to my JW relative...just a
short note to tell him why you are no longer a JW...your length of time in, positions held,
and what got you to thinking. I hope to get lots of good replies, you guys are awesome!

Big earrings
Garth Brooks
Cabbage Patch dolls
Michael Jackson...when he was real!
Airplane! the movie
I'll never forget going into Walmart and wondering where all the "records" went!! I know this must have been
the early 80's...? That really blew my mind.

I finally made it in to see the Dr.
by WildHorses inand what i have is depression.
i've been prescribed prozac and for a short time xanax.
i will only be on the xanax for about two weeks.

I wish you well, WH...stay close with the dr., don't just stop taking the med if you have 2nd thoughts about it.
Antidepressants can do wonders, but sometimes it takes awhile finding the right one. I'm proud of you
for getting help. Many don't.
Take care,

9-1-06 WT Example of False Arguments
by Amazing inwatchtower publications exhibit a level of ignorance and in adequate education by its writers that is astounding, especially when it comes to logic and false arguments.
i recently received a copy of the 9-1-06 watchtower and discovered that it is a great example of how false arguments are used to manipulate the readers - primarily jehovah's witnesses.. passive voice: one of the prime ways that a false argument is made is through the passive voice.
example: "it is said that ...," or "there are those who say that ...," or "people wonder about ...," or "further, it was felt that .... ".

Bluesbrothers took the words out of my mouth...AMAZING. Thank you so much for taking the time; I will definitely print this, study it and use it as needed when handed this publication, which I expect I'll be getting any day now. PERFECT timing, thanks Amazing!
