Funny story: A few months ago my friend and I were driving down the street. I saw a "sister" walking so I told my friend to pull over and give her a ride. So, as the sister was trying to explain to my non-dub friend where she lived he suddenly looked at me and said "Oh yeah, I know where that is, it's right by where you went to vote last election, isn't it?"

jw's can't end an engagement to marry someone.. when my teenage engagement to a jw sister ended, i was asked to state who had brought the relationship to an end because that person would be summoned to appear before a jc.. i was astonished at this infringement on a person's freedom.. here's the wt's take on this:.

most politicians portray themselves as believers... but today one government leader got some credit... he was an athiest and his funeral wasn't in a church or cathederal... it was at local concert hall - no god, no hymns, no prayers... a true athiest funeral of an athiest politician... .

according to the report 'in keeping with mr bacon's wishes, today's funeral service was not religious but one of music and celebration.

What gossip was there in your congregation/cartoon in Guardian

i understand that there is supposedly a lot of gossip in congregation.. what kind of gossip is this?.

a cartoon in which a jw says `i hope i am not interrupting something important' to someone watching the england match appeared in the guardian..

In my congregation the women are always talking about each other. I remember being in service one day and the woman I was with started making fun of another woman from our cong. because she's not very bright, also saying she only married her husband so she could get in the country.

Also, sitting in the KH before a meeting and the girl I was talking with pointed to another girl and said "Oh my God, you can see her panty line. She should be wearing a thong. I bought her one, why isn't she wearing it?" (Go to hell, who cares?)

Gossiping about disfellowshipping, etc., etc.
