Leaving the WT is the same as leaving a relationship. When you stop talking about it, thinking about it, "joking" about it, driving by to see what's going on, you're over it. No one here is over it.

I remember being out in service and hearing their creative was of reasoning that the signs on people's doors do not refer to them, thus they could annoy "the householder". (i.e., they weren't selling anything, thus they were not counted as solicitors.) Talk about stupid. Like they can't understand the jist of the damn sign.

I'm having "doubts".
by kwintestal inwouldn't you consider a "doubt" to be a very weak word for how you felt upon learning what really is going on with the wts?
i was really giving that term a lot of thought the other day, and it really is a term to keep control, because it makes it sound like heck, you're just confused and don't know what's going on.
of course they're not going to say "friends are going online and looking at apostate material and are becomming thoroughly convinced that what we're teaching is wrong.
-
dorothy
You're right, I wouldn't refer to it as doubts either. More like fed up of their controlling crap. Also, reading the Bible, getting to know Jesus and being pretty damn sure that what they were teaching was NOT what he intended.
Talk about oppressive wolves.

All Secret Santa Paricipants sign in here please!
by Gadget inthe details of who to send a gift to will be getting pm'd to you all either friday afternoon or saturday morning!
according to the information i've found online the last posting day for standard parcels is dec 11th for usa and december 15th for the uk/europe, so you should all have plenty of time to select and send a gift, although sending sooner rather than later is prefered.
can everyone taking part post on this thread what things they like, what their interests are etc so that the person who is buying a gift for you has some idea what to get you.

Hmmm....these are a few of my favorite things: cute or unique socks especially with monkeys on them, scented lipgloss, anything from the "Happy Bunny" line, or gift certificates for Old Navy or La Senza.

Bizarre Assembly Seating
by metatron inonce again, brothers try to strangely compensate for reduced attendance by roping.
off sections and compressing everybody into a smaller area.
is this nuts or what?.
-
dorothy
What a bunch of morons. Instead of roping areas off did they ever consider just putting out less chairs and adding more in the unlikely event they needed some? No, of course not. That makes too much sense.

by BeelzeDub inbob greene a jw from new haven mass, voted for kerry!
both parties made the iraq war and the war on terrorism key issues in their campaigns and voters responded at the polls.
bob greene, 49, of new haven, said he is a jehovah's witness and does not usually vote but considered this election too important to miss.

A few years ago there was a "Questions From Readers" and apparently, while frowned upon, it's a matter of conscience. Like most things, if you give them time.

For Canadians with kids/grandkids
by kwintestal in.
there's been an advertising campaign lately for an resp program called kids futures.. you can find out more at www.kidsfutures.ca.
basically the way it works, is you buy something, send in the reciept/upc code and the company you buy from donates a certain amount into an resp fund for your child.. just thought i'd share.. kwin

I signed up too. What the hell. But I'm not buying anything that I wouldn't anyway just to collect cash. I did notice that you do collect a lot of cash for some things, i.e. 50 cents on toothpaste.
