stuck in!
by red so deep inwell, this is my first post here, and i'm kind of doing it in secret, cause i know if my parents knew of my "poisoning myself with apostates" they would not be happy at all.
anyways, my story is; i'm 17, i've been brought up "in the truth" my whole life, and now i'm starting to question the wt and christianity in general, and i have nobody to talk to about it.
i feel awkward about talking to my witness friends about it, cause i worry that if i speak out against the organazition and the wrong people (i.e; young ones around here that would never think of questioning the society) hear about it, it might result in my punishment (reproof or dfing).

Question - Daughter
by breeze inif your 31 year old daughter that lives in your house locked the door to her bedroom with her boy friend inside what would you do???
this same guy is the father of her son, and pays no child support ......and rarely visits.......... is she too old to scold????

I once heard a specialist in parent / child relationships speaking on TV. She said that when adult children move back home sometimes both parent and child fall back into their old roles that they played when the now-adults were children, and went on to explain how this inevitably destroys the relationship. She is an adult, and that fact should be respected.
That being said, it is your house, your rules. How hard is she trying to improve her situation. (i.e. look for a job, support herself?)
It's a tough situation, no matter what you do.

IMPORTANT IDEA! Petition the Society and embaress them for their hubris

(beginner's luck).. what if we all (and i mean every last one of us; big numbers of people) wrote a scathing and precise petition or letter of protest (as an open letter) to the governing body of jehovah's witnesses and released it to the press on a slow news day with lots of fanfare?.
we would "call out" the rascals in no uncertain terms citing our grievances (like the founding fathers to george iii) and enumerating our personal suffering under the policies we want changed.. the list would include setting themselves up as little dictators speaking in god's name and issuing papal decrees upon penalty of excommunication.. we could demand apologies for stealing the future of children born to jw families who lose the happiness of childhood through worthless pharisaic adherence to blind rules such as no birthdays, christmas, easter, holidays in general, etc.

by sleepy inwhen you stop believing the bible to be the word of god the motives behind the actions of gods prophets and followers come across rather differently.
in fact much like fundlmentlists today.you have joshua comiting genocide , and paul moving in and tacking control of the christians and changing the religion to his own beliefs.
which other characters actions can be interpreted differenly when you see them just as ordinary humans with more selfish motives?

I definitely have a hard time with God, but I still have that fear of him too. The punishment does seem a little harsh. And I have a hard time with all of us being punished because some chick ate a piece of fruit thousands of years ago.

Do you let spiders live in your home?

i have one or two little spiders that i noticed living in my home... but i don't get rid of them hoping that they will keep the other bugs out.. does anyone else do this?.

I do! Surprisingly, they don't bother me the way other bugs do. I have, on occasion, even gone out of my way to remove them from harm's way in my apartment. They really do get rid of other bugs too.
