Yes I fornicate. No I didn't look for loopholes to justify my behavior. When I got DF'ed I figured at the time it no longer mattered what I did - little sin, big sin....so what - I had been discarded anyway.

I don't feel like that anymore. Today I pray and try to live a spiritual life. I didn't really go looking for flaws in their doctrine - it sort of fell in my lap. The only difference now is that before - I would not return because I knew intuitively that they are full of crap. Today, I know for sure and with plenty of evidence that they are overflowing with crap!

Thanks for your post. What a horrible and happy story. Glad to hear you survived and are happy now. Being betrayed is a very devastating experience - and many of us have experienced betrayal on many levels.

i've posted a few times about the troubles with my poor mom and the &*!

@# elders telling her she can't talk to her daughter.

being that i'm the only family she has here to take care of her.. anyways - i've kept my distance out of respect for her....that is...until a few weeks ago.

an old letter i have from my mom had this ezekiel 33:33 quote as a closing: "they shall know that there was a prophet among them.".

i'm sure she was not referring to ezekiel himself - the person to whom god was speaking.

i'm sure she was referring to the jw's.

I'm sure she was not referring to Ezekiel himself - the person to whom God was speaking. I'm sure she was referring to the JW's. That leads me then to 3 questions:

1. The Jdubs a prophet? Really now?!? LMAO

2. Where does it say that Ez. has modern day fulfillment?

3. If Ez. does in fact have modern day fulfillment, then who could God be referring to in Ez. 13: 3-9? "Thus says the Lord God: Woe to those prophets who are fools, who follow their own spirits and have seen no vision. Like foxes amoung ruins are your prophets, O Isreal! Their visions are false and their divination lying. They say, "Thus says the Lord!" Though the Lord did not send them; then they wait for him to fulfill their word! But I will stretch out my hand against the prophets who have false visions and who fortell lies. They shall not belong to the community of my people, nor be recorded in the register of the house of Isreal, nor enter the land of Isreal; thus you shall know that I am the Lord."

***And here's where we courageous apostates come in (vs. 21) " I will tear off your veils and rescue my people from your power so that they shall no longer be prey to your hands. Thus you shall know that I am the Lord."

do you ever get used to bumping into witnesses that you know.. i still go out in with the thought of it tin the back of my mind.

i hate the death stares i get.

i feel like walking uo to them and saying "i'm not the devil or a murderer, just no longer a witness".

On the fading of 1914 ............

forgetful as i am, i just forgot the title of the new brochure issued at this summer's conventions, but it is something like "keep on the watch", and it deals with the imminent return of christ, the signs of our times, and the need for being on the watch, being prepared for the "any day now" return.. the signs of our times are mentioned, but not earthquakes, so they are "out" again, it seems.

but, the first pages make out the basis for the belief in our days being the last ones, the final ones, and 607 is mentioned, 539 and 537 - but not 1914, not the "seven times" or "2520 years".. do you remember 1995, when the "generation change" came?

in summer, the "knowledge" book was issued, and it also dealt with the signs etc., but for the first time, there was no mention of the then "present truth" that some alive in 1914 would still be alive and witness the return.

Can't you just imagine the day they will write "Many of Jehovah's people eagarly held as truth that the actual generation of 1914 would not pass away before the end would come. However, the Faithful and Discreet Slave never prophesied in Jehovahs name....blah,blah,blah."

i haven't been to a meeting in years, but i was recently told by a friend of mine that they have really been hammering the 'use of your valuable things in support of the kingdom' in many of the talks and thursday night parts.

i know they used to mention it all the time, but he said it's gotten really bad lately.

i told him that's because the membership in the western (translate that to "richer"...lol) countries has really fallen off and even become negative in many countries and that the 3rd world countries can't contribute enough to support the great publishing empire.

But he does....in the form of 6 million loyal members who happily donate (what should be their retirement plans) to the WTBTS.
