Sorry to whomever I offended

i made a post yesterday on the thread about the living water - jw-breakaway-cult and posted a quote from their website where they say that god wants to kill homosexuals because he really hates the sinner, not just the sin.

then i said something like, "so, see, god hates queers.

" my post was deleted because one of the mods received a couple of complaints.. i would like to formally apologize to whomever was offended.

LOL - The difference between queer and gay is just semantics - word choice.

I guess its kind of like when black people use the "n" word amongst themselves or in referring to themselves. I think its just taking ownership of a word that others use in a hateful way. If I already know I'm a queer or a dyke - then you can't hurt me with it.

So if I were straight and made the post I made - It would definitely be offensive. Same as if Stinkypantz were not colored - she couldn't get away with her statement. (I see it hasn't been deleted yet). Haha

Question ref baptism annulment

my sister and i are both df'd.. but difference is she is from canada, i am in florida.

she grew up and was kinda abandoned and abused and drifted between family members who would care for her and she ended up being baptized at 16 yoa by some local elders.

she's now 40 yoa and has been df'd most of her adult life.

If I could get my baptism annuled - man, that would open a whole can of worms with my mom. I'm so used to being shunned - I can't even imagine it another way. Then she would be allowed to ask me for money! LOL And since I know she didn't prepare for retirement - she could also ask for me to pay for the nursing home! LMAO

All kidding aside. If they would let me take back my baptism - I'm not sure what I would do.

You people crack me up!!! "Pesky coloreds too" LMAO!! You will defintely be deleted for that!!I'm so glad to see some people with a sense of humor!!!

You people need to wake up and check out the little pink symbol below my avatar. Yes, SHE is neat and slim and a bit odd. However, we lesbians generally aren't the best dressed. Comfort is definitely number 1 over fashion for me. I think the fab 5 should do a show called "queer eye for the lesbians." And as far as interior decorating...thank god for pottery barn!

I would like to formally apologize to whomever was offended. I was being sarcastic --- I am queer myself - therefore I felt like it was okay to say what I said. I get tired of so-called "Christians" who feel like its okay to say that god wants to kill queers. I say so-called because my reading of Christ's words lead me to the belief that He wants us to be very loving to each other. My post was related to the original post where it was stated that the website and group is evil. My post was in support of that statement. Killing queers is evil. IMHO

Making Up For Lost Time....Need Advice

doc and i have decided that when i finish my master's degree in psychology we're going to move somewhere for me to pursue my phd.

it's an amazing opportunity, somethng that as a dub i never even dreamed of.

i have so many questions though: how do i find out which schools are considered to be at the top for psych programs?

THat sounds awesome! I say GO FOR IT!! I am 37 and just now starting graduate school (in counseling) I started my undergraduate when I was 25 and still feel like I'm behind - thanks to my JW upbringing and all the emotional problems that came with that. I considered moving to another state to go to grad school and looked into the University of NM in Albaquerque (sp?). It was such an exciting prospect - but eventually decided to stay home. I think if I would have had a partner to do it with - It would have made it so much easier.

When I was school shopping, the internet was an invaluable tool - not just to find out about schools - but also the different cities - weather, culture, etc. I can't really help you with psychology programs - but New Orleans is EXTREMELY humid!

Will Commentary press send CoC anonymously?

i'm wondering - if i want to send a copy of coc to an old friend - and send a money order and mailing address to commentary press - would the book be sent to the person with them being unable to find out who sent it?

i found out that an old friend is df'ed but trying to get reinstated.

i just want him to have something to think about while he sits in shame at the back of the hall.

I don't really care if he knows I sent it to him -- but would not want it to get back to my mom that I sent it to him. If it was mailed from my city and state - he might be able to figure out who sent it.

Any suggestions?

hey when the gifts start arriving let us know !!!!

it took over a month for one of my gifts to florida & 3 weeks for the gift i sent to someone in california.... ( lousy u.s.a. post ) lol.

i sent one to england it got there in 10 days???
