Anyone see the show 'Aspects of Love'? We saw it 6 times & everytime I was in tears at the end.
There is an ad over here raising money for a cancer care charity, it has me in tears every time I see it - can't quite remmeber the song in the background, it hits me in the guts each time it comes on.

The first one was the really funny, as they went on the humour was 'the same old same old'. However they were still funny.
I think much of the group aren't British, IMHO the humour is very much aimed at our level, particularly the English.
It is all presentend 'tongue in cheek'.
Chill out, it's not meant to work at a deep level, watch some Python...

Are there other ex JWs that have broken away to the extent that they have no religious/spiritual beliefs whatsoever.
I now count myself as a Humanist & believe that people are #1.
I guess my views aren't million mile away from those of Christians:
The difference to me is that my personal belief no longer has the trappings associated with religion (i.e.: a creator, spirit creatures, prayer etc..)
Does that make me a freak?

Everything & everybody in the universe exists, & will continue to exist in some state of another, long after we've ceased being aware.
As for Jesus, God, angels etc.. You cannot convince me that these exist in any form apart from the imagination of insecure humans.

I no longer believe that there is any life after death...
The whole idea of immortal life for humans seems to be based on this arrogant idea that we are special & chosen. As far as I can tell, we are just a life form that has advanced slightly more than the rest
The Earth has been around a long time & had many different periods of life & species. Humans came along pretty late.
Here is the argument I gave to a student recently: If we are merely advanced animals, yet we go to heaven - Shouldn't other semi-advanced species such as apes also go to a heaven.
If animals such as apes are immortal, it is logical to think that all animals are immortal and go to a heaven.
If all animals are immortal & go to heaven then logically there must be a heaven made up of immortal bacteria & microbes, aren?t these also god?s creations who deserve his love & tender kindness. Crazy eh?

I have no knowledge of not having existed, I'll have no knowledge of ceasing to exist.. As far as my awareness exists (my forever), I've been alive..

jehovah's witness across north america are being sternly counseled at this week's service meeting that they should pack lunches during the 2004 dictrict convention instead of leaving the site to eat elsewere or return with food.
in a letter read during the announcements, members are told this is a "serious problem".
reportedly jws have been banned from some convention locations because the venues want concession stand business if jws insist on bringing carry-out meals into the facility.
our daughter is seven years old and the other day i heard her say to our 12 year old son.. "takes one to know one!
" and then she stuck her little tounge out at him lol!
its so funny to hear kids say things that i used to say when i was little.

i am an ex jay dub in the uk.. i was was in 'the lie' for 36 years, spent most of it feeling guilty.. in 93 i started a teaching degree & found that i couldn't kid myself anymore, i haven't been to a meeting since.. it's great to find an ex's site that hasn't got a hidden alternative religious adgenda.. .
