New tattoo on tuesday

hey guys, .

well, i've been wanting a tattoo for almost a year now.

i wanted a raven picture, but couldn't find one i liked...the parlor showed me one that i absolutely loved.. i'm getting this tattooed on my wrist...what do ya think of it?.

Got my first one just over a year ago, and have found another one that I really want - just have to convince my wife!! It goes across the shoulders - two dragons intertwined then facing each other - Absolutely gorgeous!! Apparently, about 11 hours work!

My wife likes the one Will Mellor has on his arm (2 pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps fame)

I agree with the others - it's addictive - I've planned loads more, but will have to argue my cause!

p.s. - my avatar is my first tattoo..!

Is disfellowshipping bad?

it seems that some people are keen to use disfellowshipping as the measure of anything bad.

if someone is deleted from a forum for being obnoxious then that is akin to being disfellowshipped and is b-a-d. yada yada yada.. is it?.

is every disfellowshipping "bad" simply by virtue of being a disfellowshipping?.

Interesting topic that's made me think....

My initial reaction would be yes, disfellowshipping is bad. But having read through the other posts, I have to revise that.. I couldn't care less about disfellowshipping - I don't intend going back to any organisation that tries to control my life - it's the shunning that goes along with it that I hate, like so many others! I would like to be able to at least speak to childhood friends and family without fear of repurcussions it may have on them.

As regards moderation of your site - it's yours - you do as you see fit. One of the reasons I don't visit this site as often as I used to was because of the judgemental, agressive attitudes of some posters. Whilst they weren't particularly directed at me, I found it was reminding me of the judgemental cult that I left, and was stirring up emotions I didn't want to feel again.

I can't particularly see a parallel between removing access to a website and disfellowshipping either...

I think there need to be methods in place to punish anti social people - the difficulty is deciding what does and doesn't constitute anti social behaviour.

I wholeheartedly agree with this quote too from blondies post:

They see a touchy country in which neighbors spy on neighbors, crying foul at the slightest provocation

People seem to be in such a hurry to cry foul these days. Strange, how in a culture that is becoming obsessed with political correctness and multi cultural integration, that people just can't seem to tolerate their neighbours.

I also think Tony Blair is in an unenviable position (as would be any politician) - there are going to be people say he's doing too much, and others will say he hasn't gone far enough!

Small (toy) dogs.

they are cute breeds like king charles, maltese, pug, etc and one can see them often on the city streets taken for walks by their owners.

they feel comfortable even in a small appartment, don't shed an aweful lot of hair, are affectionate, and don't cost much to feed.

on the other hand they are not made for very long walks out in the countryside or mountains they can accidently be seriously injured due to their delicate physique and can be very aggressive with strangers.

I like most dogs, and feel just as happy out walking a German Shepherd as I do walking a miniature Yorkshire Terrier.

As a pet, I do prefer a larger dog though.

My old German Shepherd used to think it was a lap dog.... she'd sit on your knee and you just knew you were stuck in the chair for the duration!!!

My wife is in the hospital

i just wanted to let you know that my wife was admitted today to the hospital.

as you know she is 32 weeks pregnant with our son and unfortuanely, is very low on amniotic fluid.

I beg to differ matey - it's very different! The climate looked bleak and was uncertain - you're absolutely right. But when new jobs became available, they were filled with people who contributed to the Local economy, and in turn, the countries economy, thereby raising thier own living standards and opportunities nationally.... not by some inexperienced degree student with bits of paper and letters after thier names in another part of the world, contributing to sometimes unstable governments, that could pose threats to other countries (e.g. India / Pakistan - both nuclear powers, both very fraught nerves and lots of nukes pointing at each other (Nov, 03)

Outsourcing is strangling the UK's IT and callcenter industry - even to the point now where certain banks advertising campiagns state they have UK call centers only!

Maybe I've got clouded vision from my own experience of outsourcing, I don't know.... but I can't see a positive side to it.

Globalism and outsourcing creates wealth for everyone.

Like hell it does !! I take it from these comments that you haven't been on the receiving end of this wonderful new sharp practice!

I have, along with 45 other fellow IT professionals (in my own personal experience) - and I'm still reeling from the financial difficulties it's left me in! It takes Joe Average's source of income away, making him a financial burden on the state. Competition for jobs increases, meaning he's more than likely out of work for an extended period of time. Plus, he can no longer afford the things he could whilst in gainful employment, so local businesses, and local economy, suffers. Then there's income tax etc - no longer going into the countries coffers, so it also has a negative effect on the countries economy. So, local prices are inflated, hence, importing becomes cheaper - more money going out of the countries economy.

I'm all for employing the right person for the job - no matter what nationality... but strongly believe that the person should be in the same country as the job!!!

I'd love to see your rationale for supporting outsourcing - If I'm wrong, tell me!
