by eyeslice ini just don't get why the us is so afraid of social health care, and is so opposed to the canadian and british models.
the plain fact is that there are far more americans without access to health care than the combined populations of sweden, norway, denmark and finland.. a measure of the maturity of any society has to be how it sees fit to re-apportion its wealth.. we are quick to criticise african leaders who line their own pockets but leave the masses in poverty but cannot see that blindly following capitalist principles is much the same.
if we live in a wealthy society then part of that wealth has to be put back into society as a whole.. .

by looloo ini was at a first aid course the other day and was told that americans no longer teach mouth to mouth resusatation which i think is quite possible but the reason given was that 1 out of 3 people in the states is either hiv or has hep b or c i find that hard to believe , any ideas ?.

No, it's not true.
American CPR has gone to many more compressions to breaths 30-2 because it's now understood that keeping up blood pressure, blood flow and cardiac output is much more important than swapping out the air. Has nothing to do with disease.

Oh here's another analogy the kidnappers tell you put the money in the trunk of a car that you will find on XYZ corner and in 4 days we'll bring your daughter back... So you put the ransom in the trunk of the car then on the third day you go and take the money back out of the trunk...
On day 4 your not getting your daughter back because the ransom is NO LONGER PAID!

by homeschool ineverybody whose had it says great things except their night vision is a lil off.
i went walking this morning & saw a duck but i thought it was a gopher at first .

It was the best money I ever spend. I had it done about 8 years ago. No problems no complications no discomfort at all and I don't get any halo's or glare issues and I was about flippin blind as a bat.
When mine got finished I was 20/15 and 20/25 so I had them hit the one eye again and now its 20/15 too I went and got an eye test last year and both eyes are still 20/15 so I'm happy about that.
My wife got it down 2 years ago and her eyesite is great too!
