In today's study Watchtower there was, yet again, more demonization of the internet. Although the paragraph purported to be about guarding against pornography, it struck me that they are attempting to kill two birds with one stone here, without mentioning one of the birds by name. Here's a scan, check out paragraph 15:
This paragraph primes JW wives to suspect that if their husbands are looking at the internet out of sight of the rest of the family, they may be looking at pornography. The society encourages witnesses to view pornography as a betrayal of their spouse and almost as bad as adultery. Now supposing your JW husband is looking at the internet late at night, perhaps on a laptop or in his study, what else is he likely to be looking at? Perhaps apostate websites, or as the WT has referred to it: "spiritual pornography"?
Is the society attempting to get JW wives to monitor their husband's internet use by raising these suspicions?
