MADE AN ELDER WALK AWAY IN STUNNED SILENCE!
by mkr32208 inwas discussing blood and he started in with the "if your doctor says don't drink alcohol and then you get it in an iv" argument and i said... "if you get a liver transplant are you a cannibal" and he started saying no of course not (his daughter before she died got a lung transplant) then he just got this dumbfounded look on his face and walked away!
maybe his brain transplant suddenly kicked in!!

Funny when I first left the witlesses I wasn't anti-witness I was anti-god! For the first year I was out I actually defended the witlesses beliefs on several occasions! It was while defending them to people that I realized that not only was there no god but the dubs were the worst of the current crop of "christian" religions... (they may not be the worst cult out there tho') So for me the jolt wasn't even anti-watchtower... odd

They say they don't celebrate Xmas, but...???
by JH inevery year, on dec 25th, witnesses in our area gather at a book study group, and they have a dinner together.
although they say that they don't celebrate christmas, why do they gather on dec 25th like catholics do and share dinner together?
i'm sure that neighbors think that it's a christmas gathering.. i know that there isn't any christmas decorations there, or gifts being given, but i find it odd, that every year, some book study will organize a dinner on december 25th.

Well what about the mag for this month? The title article was something like "a birth we should remember" or some such $hit! I asked my wife (duba) how they could put out an article like that and say you shouldn't celebrate... She came back with well they are against the pagan traditions! So I brought up (for the 100,000th time wedding traditions...
Well, no sex for me this Christmas!

Opinions on Age of Baptismal Candidates
by redskymedic ini am sure i am not the only one that thinks it's ridiculous that they allow pre-teens and young teens to get baptized.
i know now that i did not have a full understanding of the implications of baptism.
i did it primarily because that's what was expected.

I asked an elder once if they would allow a kid that age to get married. At least you can get out of being married right... He just walked away! I've heard he's out now I hope it was one of the many seeds that I planted!

I think the best way to get them to think is to just show them that your out and not a miserable pile of $hit anymore... Unless you still are! Then your sort of up the creek...

Banned from the Kingdom Hall?
by devinsmom inso i was just wonderin' if anyone has ever heard of someone getting banned from the kingdom hall.
my dad who was a very looked up to elder before my parents divorce and allways a very devout jw recently got banned from the kh, this is the 1st time hearing of someone getting banned, see this elder was talkin to his new wife a little too much and he thought they were gettin a little too close and he told this dude to back off and he didnt so this elder had a talk one night and my dad stood up in the middle of the hall right as this dude got on stage and announced that he better stay away from his wife, he was asked to leave and he refused so they called the cops on him and the cops came right in and escorted him out.
so anywho they wont let him come back, they didnt df him or reprove him or anything just banned his ass-way to go dad, probably the best thing that ever happened to him, too bad he allready wasted 2/3 of is life in that sh*t. so has anyone else ever heard of getting banned?-april

Awesome...I'm a corrections officer and I haven't been doing it long enough to get assigned to the crew that takes the "brothers" in prison to the assemblies yet but you bet your ass I'm going to volunteer! All my old "friends" see me walking around in uniform big sam brown on my hip at the assembly! I'm laughing my ass off just thinking about it! As I've never been Df'ed or anything either I figure on my break I'll go up and talk to all of them like nothing is going on.... lol
