i think it's just the realization that life sucks and then you kinda nudge them in the direction of WHY their life sucks.

Depend on her/his age and number of years as jw.
what about an "innocent" question? (for any with at least 10 years as jw)
asking to list the positive and negative aspects of the religion
and results on his/her life
It can make her THINK a bit.

Typically, you just have to wait for him/her to see the WT absurdities for themselves and develop "nagging doubts". It's only then that you can help them with further questions and food for thought. THere are exceptions of course. Pole

I think the first thing that should be done is bring to their attention that the WTBTS is just a publishing corporation and is not the ark of the covenant or any such thing that the WTBTS tries to impy in their literature . There is only one mediator between God and man and that is jesus christ. The UN and blood doctrine are also tools to use in discussing the deception of the organization .
