coming from the uk it is astonishing to me that an affluent nation as is the us, cannot provide better protection for the health and welfare of its citizens.
i was especially astonished by the fact that insurance companies withdraw their coverage while a person is sick and in need of help.

My father-in-law is the second highest paid pepsi employee in the state of florida and yet is constantly on the verge of bankruptcy due to my mother-in-law's medical bills. They have some sort of insurance that is an 80-20 split and her medical bills cost them at least 30k a year not including medications... She's actually coming back from the Mayo clinic in Washington DC today (flying into jacksonville the day before the super bowl... yep thats thinking ahead ) but this one week treatment will cost them 10-20k easy plus her expenses up and back (hotel airfare etc...) My wife's insurance through bellsouth with the two kids cost 1500 a month. The employer pays it but thats just another way of saying you won't get paid as much... You DO pay it in the long run! The system NEEDS overhauling thats for damn sure but I dont' think socialized medicine is the solution either... Gotta admit I don't know what is!

I'm with you on the sitting thing blonde I never stood for that crap... you got a lot of dirty looks when you sat but I never gave a rats about that either!
Ok here's the funny thing that I did and I swear that it's true and really happened!
When I lived in new york before they built the assembly hall in rochester we used to have our assemblies at the clemens center in Elmira it was a very nice very posh building and it had private boxes in the balcony with REALLY comfy armchairs I mean this place was the BOMB! any way no one ever sat in the boxes as I guess that was being to vain or imodest or some such crap! Well one year when I was about 12 or 13 me and my brother sat in the box my parents were ok with it because as kids no one could give us too much crap about putting on airs (plus my dad was an elder so we were good) any way ding dong speaker gets up to give the announcements and I'm sitting there right over the stage in my pimp box and I'm doodling in my note pad and my sleeve is all turned around from getting up to sing then sitting and so I snap my arm to straighten my sleeve and my pen flies right out of my hand and NAILS THE GUY ON STAGE! Oh my freaking god 3000 people are all looking at me my dad grabs me and HAULS me off to yell at me he was so mortified that I didnt' really even get in trouble he was so shocked that he just stuttered at me! This must be a repressed memory because I had forgotten all about it until I read this post so I called my mom and she filled in the details and she's STILL embarrassed! This was 18 YEARS ago hahahahahahaha

Did mine monday... Sick that I made that much and am still broke as hell... Not that I'm rich by any stretch! In my defense my wife and I both lost our jobs in june me due to an injury her due to getting fired the state is suppose to be getting me a job in the jail here and she's sueing for her job back with pay so we're pretty broke now but still we made a LOT of money compared to many people so why the heck am I so broke!

every day in our small town we are being shunned by former friends.
one in particular annoyed me today.

DA'ing coming up, to speak out now or not?
by meat pie inhi there, i know its up to me in the end, but just wondering, what would most of you do?
my da'ing could be tonight, should i take the opportunity (before they can no longer speak to me ) to tell a few jw's that i am being da'd for telling the truth, or not to bother.
does it matter anyway.

Sneak back and unplug the sound system before you try to stand up and speak or they will blast the song and drown you out! Sadly I have actually done this before when "apostates" tried to speak...
