it's been a long time since i posted here, but i lurk often, checking in on things in the jw world.
i have been out for 25 years, but have family still in.
none of them speak to me anymore, even though they used to quite often and quite regular, breaking all the shunning rules.
If all the conspiricy theorists and doomsday preppers are right, and that day comes. I will just bend over and try to kiss my ass goodbye! I don't have the money and resources to prepare a bunker or anything like it. After all, we're all dying someday. If you believe in a heavenly afterlife, more power to you, or if you believe in nothingness for eternity (aka....worm food), more power to you, what difference does it make afterall? Enjoy your life right now and show that the best revenge is living well and happy.

it's time for the next chapter in my life.
on friday, jan. 31, i will be 67 years old.. the contract job i was working ended in july, 2013. it was a plus money wise for my pension and social security.
i worked for an engineering firm at the same company that i was with for 30 years.. thankfully i never listened to the wtbts about quiting my job to pioneer or other bs stuff.
Gypsy Sam,
I will be PMing you in a day or so.
For now I will say Bonita Beach Road, Coconut Point, and whatever else around Fort Myers and Bonita.

Prologos........
Since 2003 I have lived in SW Fla. off and on. Sometimes for a few weeks......sometimes for a few months. I know that summer there is brutal but I've done it before. I actually worked from June thru Sept. for a year or two. I got used to being soaking wet from sweat moving furniture with my daughters now ex. Check out my early posts from 2004 through 2006.
Now that I am older, I will just stay in air conditioned places. LOL. After all.....summers here in Western PA in Pittsburgh hit the high 80's and sometimes the low 90's with high humidity. So what do I do? I stay in the air conditioned places.
Take care,

Thankfully I never listened to the WTBTS about quiting my job to pioneer or other BS stuff. My daughter....the only blood I have in the world who is also an XJW has been living in SW Florida for 13 years now and has been after me to move to be with her for a long long time. So now is my time to act! I will be moving by the first week of March and stay with her for at least 3-4 months until I can get my own place.
I have been there at least 3 times a year and already have friends who will be glad to see me. I also have a job offer to take care of inventory and the books for a businessman who has become a friend of mine. Any extra money would help with the high cost of rent there.
For the past 6-7 years, I have corresponded with another poster from JWN who lives in the area there and we will finally meet for coffee.
Anyone else living in the area from Fort Myers to Naples who might want to meet up, please let me know.
Goodbye Western PA and winter.

I think it's kind of screwed up. The number 1 by my envelope never goes away even after I check my PM's. Last PM I got was a month ago. So why doesn't the notice go away since I checked and answered my PM?

would love to hear comments on what is being said on the paragraph which states that if the wt demands you drink the kool aid, you should do it - even if you don't understand why!.
.
look forward to any replies..
I'm soooooooo happy that I left that cult.....and thankful that my daughter did too! She was actually out mentally a year before I was but was afraid to tell me. I figured it out all on my own and now we are a HappyDad and daughter.

i was listening to dr. radio.
a lady mortician was on.
it was morbid, but wanted to share what she said.
I forgot to add. Here in Western Pa. is the "Funeral Consumer Alliance of Western Pennsylvania" which I joined after my wife died in 1966. They have quite a few Funeral Directors in the area who will provide a low cost funeral of your choice. The one I picked will cremate me when my time comes for just under $1000. You can check them out on the web.

When I go, it's cremation. I told my daughter and I preach this to others.......why give all that insurance money to the Funeral Home when creamation is a fraction of the cost. Keep that insurance money for your family. Also, there are a lot of people without insurance but their kids want to show face so to speak and they go all out for a fancy casket and funeral. Then they have to struggle to pay for it themselves. Kind of rediculous if you ask me!

today my mom called me three times at work to tell me how "worried" she was about my spirituality.. i so wanted to tell her some ttatt but just said, "mom, i am fine spiritually.
if i am ever in trouble spiritually, i will tell you.
meanwhile, i would really appreciate it if you left my relationship with god a private matter.".
TTATT,
I agree with you using the 6 points you stated. I think #4 and 5 will get her thinking. Good luck.
