Two decades of borderline doubt coupled with the lack of love and the way the elders treated my daughter, then reading Crisis Of Conscience in 1998 helped me to finally make an escape.

This just makes me believe all the more, that the WT has people assigned to read and watch everything that is directed to them. One of those people has probably read this topic already.
Hopefully, one of them may begin to question their own beliefs as we once did.

The one elder who was interviewed on the program "Witnesses" made mention of murder along with child abuse. What a disgusting religion we were in! I sure wouldn't want to be one of the elders confronting someone like this. You could wind up being his next murder victim. Yikes!

Allowed?
by punkofnice ina jobo i know has cancer.
her son goes and cleans her house and generally cares for her.
so does another non-jobo relative.. the congregation, interestingly, has shown very little support apart from the odd one rabbiting on about 'bible promises this and that'.. so, the co visited and said, 'but your son is an apostate(tm).

When my wife was dying of cancer, we had a hospital bed set up at home so she could feel more comfortable. I can count on one hand how many from the congregation came to visit her over a period of time. My two neighbors, one a Catholic, and the other a born again Christian. They were over every day to help take care of and comfort her.
I will never forget their kindness nor will I ever forget the unkindness of the JW's.

What the hell? It's after 4 AM here in Minnesota and my brain just won't shut down. Of all things....in the middle of the night, algebra is bugging me. I haven't thought about algebra since 1960 when I was in ninth grade. For some reason, the school system felt that algebra was something that you had to learn in order to be useful in your later life. I never was able to grasp it. My teacher had another student tutor me in this archaic mathematical crap. It didn't work! I still could not understand it.
Years later, I learned that trigonometry and geometry was very easy for me to grasp. As a journeyman machinist, trig and geometry was something I used quite often. The trade is now dead thanks to computers that figure all calculations for any idiot who can touch a button.
I was able to make a decent living with benefits without having tens of thousands of dollars in student loans. I am now retired with a somewhat decent pension and social security that I paid into for my entire working career. Not an entitlement that liberals say, but what I actually earned.
My heart aches for young people today who have to be in debt for most of their lives paying student loans for a degree that will get them a job at a fast food restaurant.
My advice...……..get your damn hands dirty and shovel shit if you have to. You will be better off becoming a plumber, carpenter, electrician, or any number of craftsmen jobs rather than falling into the trap of the useless lazy ass academia people who tell you that a degree is everything. I say BULLSHIT! They need young people to fall for their marketing in order to sit back and receive their paycheck for screwing over you. Wake up!
Have you ever used algebra in your life?

Jimmy Young,
I wanted a Harley Davidson my entire life. As a kid, my neighbor had a 1961 Hi-Fi Purple Harley (pan head) with a white seat and bags. I was only 14 years old and loved the feel of riding. He would take me for a ride quite often. It was like having sex (which I didn't discover for another 5 years or so) I finally bought my first motorcycle in June of 2002 when I was 55 years old. It was a 1984 Harley FLTC. 680 pounds of muscle with the entire tour pack. Upper and lower fairings and the radio, tape deck, etc. Bought it from a local guy who had 2003 centennial Harley on order. I paid $6,000 for it. The guy who owned it had all the chrome custom engraved and repainted it with a Corvette red and white theme. It also had a Mikuni carburetor and the engine was rebuilt and bored ten thousandths oversize. It was the first year of the Evolution motor and the last year of the chain drive.
I was in my glory riding that bike. I have a picture of it somewhere, but not handy to post at this time.
My love affair was short-lived though! after my first months of riding it until winter came,
Then came spring of 2003. I had joined the local chapter of HOG ( Harley Owners Group) and rode with them for some unforgettable rides,
On Saturday, October 4th, 2003 it was raining in the morning and we had a ride planned from the Pittsburgh, PA area to the AMA Motorcycle Museum in Ohio on Sunday. About 1 o'clock PM the rain stopped and the sun came out. I went and got the bike and took a nice ride for a couple of hours. On my way home, I stopped to fill the gas tank so I could take the ride on Sunday. Three blocks from my home, I'm riding slowly down a residential street. I would be home in less than 5 minutes.
I never made it home with the motorcycle. An 86 year old man ran a stop sign and T-boned me. Thankfully, I saw him out of the corner of my eye and hit the front and back brake. The front brake grabbed better than the back brake and the momentum lifted my right foot from the foot pad. He hit square on from the lower fairing and crash bar to the foot pad. The foot pad was actually smashed into the transmission case. If my foot didn't swing back at that time, I might have lost it.
Anyhow, the ambulance came and I spent the night in the trauma unit of Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA for observation. Thankfully, nothing was broken or missing. Just a lot of black and blue and aches and pains from flying through the air and landing on the asphalt street. The bike was totaled and I haven't been on a motorized two wheeler since.
My fight with the insurance company was another one year ordeal and is a whole different story. But at least I came out of that with a smile.
Enjoy riding and be safe.

Jimmy Young.
Don't discount the benefits of cutting an onion and putting it on your nightstand while you sleep. There is more to this folk medicine than you know. All the rest about peeing.....well....I'll laugh at that one myself. But the onion works.
