  The Young Witness Exodus Continues

  i just found out that , on my wife's side of the family, the last witness kid has given up!.

  he was the very last one in that half of our extended witness family.

  But I think 50-75% of the young ones leave. When I was a teenager, 50% of us ended up leaving. And that was WAY before the internet.

  This is one old older aging elderely senior real cool young at heart dude who said over 20 years ago that the young ones in their teens and twenty's were able to see the hypocrosy and bs much more than the so-called adults and were not afraid to make their feelings known (like rebelling and saying screw it all).

  I for one never have and never will discredit those who are younger than me. At least they have the balls to be true to themselves.

  They're Coming to Take Me Away!!!

  am i to expect with all the adjustments regarding new rulings of da'd & df'd all falling within the same category that there is to be a cleaning house of the ones who are inactive and are no longer meeting attenders.

  i just got a knock on my door from a brother who's been trying to get me to activate my study and go back to the hall, though this time he seemed to have a new urgency about the situation.

  is there something going on that i should be concerned about?

  Stinky Pants and Elsewhere....................I sang this song in 1966 when I was 19 and got my "Greetings From Uncle Sam" to spill my blood in southeast Asia..............DAMN! I'll never forget it.............I was drunk out of my mind and riding in the back seat of my best friend's lime green 1957Chevy convertable on the back roads and this song was on the radio...and I was singing my heart out.........long before I became a JW. Sooooooooo.............is this song still around? Who recorded it? I still sing it on occasion. Anyhow.........thanks for bringing back a memory. HappyDad

  Mouthy.....it's amazing that people are actually buying these books. I can understand that some collectors want them even if they are not JW's or if they are XJW's and want to show someone in their new life how they were programed years ago.

  I thought that there were no more books in my house since I gave most of everything I had to Goodwill about 6-7 months ago, but I just found another box of books last week in a closet with my name and my late wife's name in them.

  Right now I don't have the time to list them all, but if there is a particular book anyone is looking for, PM me and I'll get back to you whether or not I have it and I will send it to you for free. The only books that are bringing $$$$ on ebay are usually the early WT pubs. Just the other day I got $317.00 for an early 1900's IBSA book and two weeks ago got $169.50 for Faith On The March.

  WHY DO PRISONERS DISCOVER "RELIGION"?

  why is it that a number of people who commit the most henious of crimes, suddenly become "born again christians"--usually while sitting on death row?

  do they think this somehow absolves them of what they did?

  i remember when karla fay tucker was interviewed shortly before her execution (in texas) a few years ago.

  Do you mean they were celebrating the anniversary of the BIRTH of their religion? 100 years? thought it was started 2000 yrs ago, and that birth celebrations were evil?

  Selfish bastards.

  Yeah.....it's ironic that they celebrated the birthday of the WT but we weren't allowed to celebrate ours. But they called it an anniversary so that is different. Yeah..right!

  Never ever believe a prisoner has changed while still in prison. Let them serve their sentence for their crimes, then, if they still have time left, then they can show us all they've changed.

  In 1976 the WT one hundred year anniversary was held here in Pittsburgh and the Civic Arena. At that time there were several JW conversions at the prison here.

  Well one of the JW's to be was allowed to go to the program under the watchful eye of several brothers. I remember that he only had about a year or so to go on his sentence and the prison officials felt that he was not a risk.

  One of the brothers assigned to accompany him at all times (even to the restroom) was a friend of mine from the KH I went to at the time. During the course of the program the guy had to use the restroom and they took him there. By the way.......the guy had a suit on and blended right in!

  As the brothers waited at the rr door (they were pretty big restrooms with in and out doors if I remember right) they waited and waited. hehe.......the guy disapeared and never did show up again. It was on all the news for days after and it affected all other prisoners getting day passes for outstanding behavior. The ones guarding him were questioned interrogated many times afterward to see if one of them helped the guy escape. My friend refused to talk about it to any of us as he was very embarresed.

  As far as I know, the guy has never been found to this day 29 years later.

  So much for jailhouse conversions.

  Is Walmart right or wrong?

  here in quebec, walmart decided to close a walmart store because the 190 employees wanted to become unionized.

  walmart said that they weren't making money at that store, and that's why they are closing.

  we all know that the real reason why walmart wants to close is because the employees want to be unionized.. in this day and age, do you think that walmart is right, or the employees?.

  Poor Sam Walton would turn over in his grave if he knew how his offspring has BASTARDIZED his dream. When he started WalMart......he had only North American made products for sale.......in order to put a halt to cheapo foreign imports........and most importantly.........to keep people on this continent employed with a living wage. And it is so ironic.........there was an abundance of ALL products manufactured on the continent. How many manufacturing businesses have been done away with by the company since Sam? After he died.........his GREEDY offspring got even more GREEDY. They could give a sh*t less if 10's of thousands of Americans and Canadians didn't have a "living wage" paycheck coming in each week.
  

  So basically what you have now is 10's of thousands of WalMart greeters making a max of $7.50 per hour and probably working another job along with their spouse in order to feed THEIR offspring and make rent or a house payment.

  So.......if you want to bash unions.......then do so........but don't even think about complaining about what you don't have in a job benifits package.

  Not one person on JWD or anywhere in this country would have an iota of benifits or a wage package if it wasn't for UNIONS.

  No.......I don't agree with the bullying tactics of unions in the past and even now....but the overall impact has been more positive for the "lowly" uneducated worker than ANY "right to work" agenda.

  So........HappyDad who has been a union man and supporter since 1966 has spoken.........and if you think unions are bad........then PLEASE think where you MIGHT be if it wasn't for them.

  HappyDad of the ready to fight for UNIONS even though he is now retired class but still able to kick scabs asses.

  (Edited to add).....HappyDad even made waves when he was and elder by telling fellow Jdubs to stand up for their rights when they complained about their employer. (The self-employed Jdubs didn't think highly of HappyDad. Guess I was on the side of the "lowly" even though I didn't know it.

  Entrapment(?): Bethelite Disfellowshipped for Gluttony

  when i was in bethel around 1975,,i was told by a few brothers while eating at my assigned table, that there was a brother there that would eat a lot(more than his fair share) and so they(gb, or higher ups) plotted to get him df'd.

  what they did was have the waiters brings all kinds od food to the table and this brother just ate and ate when we had consumed enought they brought him before a committee and df'd him for gluttony and greediness.

  is there any one here on this forum that witnessed this??

  I remember one time at Bethel Governing Body member Grant Suiter gave the Bethel family a rather long morning lecture about not flushing the toliets in there private rooms unless you did a number 2. Number 1's where not a reason to flush the toleit because it cost the WT Organization too much money and it was waste full.

  what is wrong with this? Isn't that's why toilets are made with a big bowl? You wait until it is full to the brim with #1's or 2"s and then flush. Sure saves on the water bill, and the cleanup after is done by the lowly new bethelites. HappyDad
