on a post somewhere, i saw reference to a group called witnesses for jesus - or witnesses reformed for jesus -or something like that.
the post mentioned that the group holds an annual conference in pa in october every year.. can anyone tell me about the group - and the actual name?
i think it sounded like it was made up of mostly ex-witnesses.. any help?.

i had to say goodbye to my s/o yesterday for the last time.
it has become more and more apparent to me that the reason we were together, at least for me, was that i sought out the same type fo restriction i had on my as i grew up and stayed in "the truth".
i posted about this before, but not like this.
I feel the same lonliness and desperation, fear of yet another thing and person I love going away.Anyway, i just wanted to write something because it hurts so bad, even though I know I'm doing the right thing. It helps already just to put this where someone else can see it.

It will get easier with time. Something similar recently happened in my life and I was devastated. Maybe because of my age and having learned to turn negative events into something more positive, the hurt has eased to where it no longer is hurt. And it happened faster than I thought it would.
In my case, the two of us are still friends and keep the contact limited. I've come to realize that everything happened too fast and it was best for both of us to no longer be involved the way we were.
So for now, you will have the pain and hurt, but it will get better. In no time you will see it for what it is/was.
Concentrate on your job and the other interests in your life. The right person is out there waiting for you. When it is time, it will happen.

I wish you the best, but trying to minister to current JW's is like trying to drill through a 3 foot thick concrete wall with a 1/4" drill. They will not listen to you as they have not listened to many others who tried to do the same thing as you. As the majority of us on this forum are XJW's, it was our own doubts that eventually helped us make the decission to leave.
Some like myself are now Christian and know the real Jesus and witness to others by being true to themselves and others, showing unconditional love and being real and honest. Some want nothing to do with anything that deals with religion, but are also being true to themselves and others, showing the unconditional love that none of us knew as JW's. All are respected here and are free to express what they believe.
If you can plant a seed, that is good. But a seed blown by the wind and from no direct source has worked better. As in mine and others cases, that windblown seed landed on us and started to grow in the sense that it made us think out of the box.
Once we started to think, the questions followed. Then the answers came eventually as that concrete wall started to crumble.....and not crumbled by any person trying to witness to us against our long held belief system........ but through gradual deterioration. Now that wall is down and we are free!
Now as we have a new life, the rubble of the past one is being cleaned up........for some of us very fast........for others very slow. But how beautiful life is now as we see progress as we continue to work at it.

my wife and i made the fade in the past year or so - a side benefit is now beginning to become apparent.
our adult daughter, who was somewhat estranged due to being df'd has come back into our lives.
[we never did completely shun her, as we never agreed fully with that, but it was always strained because we were under the guilt trip].
This is the kind of news that I love to hear.......
I made my mind up years ago that no matter what my daughter might ever do, I would still show her unconditional love even if it meant being DF'd myself. It is appalling to me that people "throw away" their own flesh and blood for man made rules.

in his defense he's also a worker, he's trimmed our cedar trees, walked the dog, cleaned up the dog's poop, did the dishes (sorry about his arms falling off, they are paper ya know), oh and he did the dishes after he cooked the dinner.........gawd do i really have to part with him?
