over many threads i have argued and posted on what various indivdual versus in the bible say.

to put it all together i decided to create it's own topic thread so it could be referred back to in the future.

Thank you for the way you put it in writing. You are the first one that has made me look deep into myself and think about the treatment of gays and I am actually getting a different perspective on my outlook. I always considered myself as having an open mind, but now I'm seeing that it was just slightly ajar for certain issues. Somewhat like it was as a JW!

Your points are valid and I would say thoughtfully and tastefully put. I apologize if I came across as having an attitude. Now I am able to see a little better.

If it weren't for posts such as yours, ones like me would still have "foggy" glasses on........seeing a little of the picture.......but not clear enough to really understand.

I guess education takes time for those willing to be educated. One thing that has helped me immensely is having two dear friends who are lesbian and nothing in their lifestyle would make me drop them as friends. Then a little less than a month ago a male friend I have had for almost 8 years confided in me that he is gay. He said that I'm someone he could trust talking to. I would have never known it since he has never said or done anything to make me suspect. That made me think too! He is my friend and I'm not about to drop him because he is gay. And I will not betray his trust in me.

Soooooooo EF, continue writing informative posts that make people think.

the predictions for the year 1914 that the corporation had been printing since charles russell helped nelson barbour publish the book three worlds, in 1877, had passed unfulfilled.

charles russell had died in 1916. the followers of the group split after the book titled the finished mystery was printed without approval or input of the directors appointed by charles russell.

Beach Trip

i know some of you are land locked and some have never seen an east coast beach, soi took a few pics!....

Seriously RR, you need to think about starting your own informative web page. Your writing is great and I for one always look forward to your posts. Your insight for such a young man is incredible and you really should think about writing as a profession. You could be the next great writer of the 21st century. The next Clive Cussler or Stephen King or whoever, They all had to start somewhere.

I respect you more than you know. You broke the binding chains of the WT and got an education and are living a great life. However, I agree with the monkey when she says................

Evil , i don't need to read because it does not matter what you do in your private life to me . You are a great person with much to give and that is all you need to be in my book . I have never been gay or even thought of it so i don't really understand why anyone is ,or chooses to be with same sex nor do i care but you are a who you are and makes no difference except the person you are inside and Evil is a amazing great person.

I don't want to be pointing the finger at you only, because there are others on this forum who are gay and from time to time bring up a topic for discussion (not to be confused with JW speak). But if you and the others are so comfortable with your lifestyle, why must the subject of homosexuality always be brought up? What is the reason? Just go back and take a look at your topic titles. It seems to me that in spite of your education and title of Dr., you are having major problems in dealing with your own identity. What are you searching for in life? Are you not happy just being yourself? Must you keep proving to others that you are an ok guy?

You are an ok guy with very intelligent things to say and contribute to all of us. I just don't understand why this type of subject must constantly be brought up. There is a forum for gays that is very supportive and instructional.

If I or other heterosexuals and Christians on this forum constantly brought up the subject of our lifestyle and tried to prove its legitimacy, we would be bombarded with venom and hate.

Ok.......I have spoken my mind.

How much is enough?

many know my story; im in a fade, still attending meetings every now and then.

recently i had to endure a co visit.

during one of his talks i didnt know what to do, laugh or start yelling.

I really feel for you that you still have to put up with going to the meetings. Some day you will look back and wonder why you just didn't call it quits a lot sooner. But as long as you still have to go, you will keep hearing the same old same old.

It started out as just a walk ...

... and it turned into an animal rescue.. it was a beautiful day here, so after supper my wife, two kids and myself decided to take a stroll in the woods nearby.

you have to drive a ways up an out-of-the-way road to get to this trail and we had a great time on our walk.

so we're headed back to the car and hear a faint, "meow".

i have had a rash of jws on this board leaving comments in my inbox telling me how mislead i am.

but what amazes me not one of them yet will analyze the facts with me.

a real discussion means nothing to them.

Why not ? we were all at the stage where we would defend the truth once, before we found out the real "truth"

Leaving is a process - not a moment.

A little over 9 years ago I would have died for the "truth" too! That is until I got my first computer in May, 1996 a month after my wife died. WOW.......did I get an eyeopener by typing Jehovah's Witnesses or Watchtower in keyword.

It still took a number of years for the "process" to take place. Everything I learned reinforced the many doubts and anger of my and my daughter's experiences at the hand of fellow elders and other dubs in the cong.

I was never brave enough to get on a forum back then but I relayed many of the things I learned to my daughter and she did some correspondig with Randy Waters. I guess you could say that we were feeding each other. Now we are out and free. That is why I consider myself HappyDad.

Best way to handle a "nasty", "spiteful" JW apologist is to NOT REPLY TO THEM. Like someone said, when it gets down to facts, the apologist does not respond back. So let them be. Just look at how AFIN seems to have "warmed up" to us after being kind of nasty at first.

The PROCESS will usually win out in time. I'm glad it did for me.
