i went to a holiday party at work today and was totally surprised to win the "caregiver of the year" award.
i work as a cna for an elder care agency and have been there 9 months.
but i have more than 15 years experience with the elderly.. anyway, several of my clients wrote in letters to our corporate offices to explain why i should win the award.

Since I subscribe to NETFLIX, my favorite movie of all times can change at any given viewing.
Right now..........I can say SNOW DOGS with Cuba Gooding JR. is my favorite of all time. And this is one I saw about a month ago with 3 to 4 more in between.
Whatever I watch next might replace it.

this is the lamest joke you'll ever see, so prepare yourself... it was added as someones 'signature' within an email so every person he emailed recieved this lol.
its actually a circuit overseers .
.
This reminded me of the constant badgering of brothers to conform to the "one cut fits all" hairstyle that was never to be a sign of worldlyness. No long sideburns and nothing over the ear. This was from the 1970's and on from what I could remember.
Now, what about shaved heads? Do they frown on this style now? About 25 years ago there was a brother who had a real shaved head........reason being that he was totally and completely bald. He could not grow much at all on his head. So the few strands that might pop up.......he cut off. He was an active JW also, and I heard the rumor back then that some high and mighty elder actually suggested that this brother get a wig so he wouldn't look so radical at the doors. What a crock!

lately i have been perusing the forum, and finding that i have little interest in most topics.
jw doctrine is old hat, my basic bitterness over that whole thing is fading, the fluff is of little interest to me.
i am dismayed to see that the ugly heads of prophets have risen from the ranks to be frequently on the first page of active topics, and i hope that others are not falling for other 'false prophets' after having discovered jw's to be such.
I'll go thru a phase where I post alot and vent...but we are all at different levels of exiting, Some are over it and just leave others just want some friends.
I'll say an AMEN to this.

when i was a bachelor, i had a very simple life: a bed, a tv, a computer, a stereo, and a couch.
no storage rooms, no closets full of stuff: everything i owned was straightforward and functional.. now?
well, bikerchic is having me haul around all these boxes and totes and piles of stuff for christmas, and i swear we must have about 47,000 tons of stuff that even she doesn't know where some of the stuff came from.. it must be genetic.. .
Craig,
You need a little comedy relief about now. Have you ever heard George Carlin's routine about "STUFF"?
Here it is! Have fun watching.

i'm still a nominal jw, get literature at the hall, use the premises (power, heating etc.
) so that i feel that i have to bring a financial contribution to the organization.
however, i find the wts's constant calling for money, especially at this time of the year, rather irritating and as far as i'm concerned, it is utterly counter-productive since i think that i will donate less this year than in previous years.
Since I am no longer a JW, I give more to charity. Every year I give a donation to our local firemen and another to the local EMS ambulance fund. This time of year I never pass a Salvation Army bucket without putting something in it. The Disabled Veterans is also on the top of my list. Several times a year, I send them a check. I must have enough address labels to cover a wall in my house!

a producer with nbc in new york called within the past hour to tell me that the segment i interviewed for (once in nashville, tn in august and once in washington, dc in october) is set to air tonight on nbc nightly news with brian williams, that is, if no huge calamity takes place to bump the feature.
this piece will be two minutes and 45 seconds long, the longest slot nightly news has for topics of interest, and will feature a discussion about the court documents that are found on the cd i recently produced, "secrets of pedophilia in an american religion, jehovah's witnesses in crisis.
in addition, nbc's internet site, msn, will follow with a detailed story.
That is great news Barbara.

it was so wonderful.
i had to give a testimony in church.
i kept on having to stop to take a deep breath as the tears were threatening to come pouring out into the ugly cry.
Congratulations
ok. i used to believe in creationism even after i left the dubs.
i was a braindead window washer at the time.
i don't believe in creationism now, but i do believe in a creator and that is different.
Why bother? I've got better things to read and do.
again it ran in the sunday edition - i hope that a few people might be 'forewarned' and thus 'forearmed' against the jw religion.
perhaps a jw or two will read it also- here was the letter:.
to the editor; on october 25 the british press was awash with the story of young emma gough from tellford, uk.
Thank you Jeff for a well written article. Man.........I only wish I could put into words what I know and feel like you just did in this article.
If we ever get the chance to meet, I want to buy you dinner......and you can hold me to that!
