Update on my jury duty......... I had to check today to see if they wanted me to report tomorrow...Wed. July 16. Nope.....they told me I did not need to report. Oh well! HappyDad

George Bush working on Autobiography
by Simon inapparently the current president has started work on his autobiography which he hopes to have ready for release when he leaves office.. he's run into a few issues though ... apparently his coloring-in went over the lines in quite a few places and he had trouble cutting out the popup shapes with the plastic safety scissors he was allowed to use..

Simon, I won't argue with you about that even though I once supported him. After the fact............I guess he was just Dick Cheney's (and the other holder's of power) marrionette. Bush danced to whatever strings they pulled. A very sorry state of affairs for the United States. He didn't have the brains to make a decision of his own. To Quit or Control it....Drinking that is....Who has succeeded and how?
by oompa inthinking about just giving it up....i always revert back to a nightly habit.....and the occasasinal big escape into the bottle.
but of course you can't live there, and it fixes nothing.. because i think i do have a problem, i went to some aa meetings and found them to be too much like wt.
if alcholism is a true disease, then why is it the only one that needs god (or a higher power to cure (or cope with).

Face it OOMPA........you are a garden variety ALCHOHOLIC..............no different from the rest of us ALCHOHOLICS who have surrendered and gotten clean. Some of us for many years........some of us just recently. Your biggest problem is that you won't face up to your problem because your ALCHOHOLISM is a recurring theme here on JWD. Another problem is the ones who call you a friend and coddle you. Everyone here needs to abandon you until you accept responsibility for your own actions. You don't need another enabler. GROW UP MAN AND QUIT BELLYACHING ABOUT THINGS YOU CAN'T CONTROL. You think you are cute with many of your posts.........but you are showing the world that you are one F.....UPPED individual. Stop making threads about your drinking and actually do something about it. You are becoming a cyst to intellegent people on JWD. Go to a rehab and do what they say. There's nothing worse than a drunk who keeps repeating him/herself over and over.....wishing things were different. If you don't like the GOD talk in AA? .......then look up RATIONAL RECOVERY online. But then again.......I told you this before but you are not interested in getting better..........you want a magic wand to be waved and all will be well..... and you crave negative atention. another girl in the cong - same thing.. they just announced both of them as no longer bap't publishers.
from what i've been told, that's not just an announcement to just let the cong know they don't put in reports- it's like there d'fing them or marking them or something.. anyways, in order for elders to do that, they are supposed to at least attempt to meet with the person.

Myself said: He was never baptized, he doesn't "belong" to the organization in the first place according to their terms. According to the highlighted information, they are condemning him of wrongdoing in an organization he never formally joined though baptism. They make a public announcement which according to their own publications is an alert to its members that the subject of the announcement is a sinner worthy of such an announcement. Sounds life defamation of character to me. I say: This could be some good fodder for a lawsuit against those elders. HappyDad

It's time for me to say Goodbye
by oldflame ini have been on this board for 7 or 8 years, i have learned a great deal from all of you, but it is time for me to move on and put my life in a different direction.
so i say so long, who knows maybe sometime in the future i will pop in and say hi.
thanks to all of you who have done a great deal for me, i have learned a lot about cult religions and a lot about myself.

I hate it when people say goodbye to the board. I thought about doing the same but many of the ones who do this are back within days.....weeks.....or months. Just fade away like many of us did as members of that hideous organization........but come back from time to time. No need to announce that you want to leave. To me that is just saying you want/need attention. HappyDad

It's official: I'm a man who carries a purse
by Elsewhere inthis evening i was walking into the local fourth of july celebration grounds and had to pass through the security point where they check everyones' bag to make sure no one brings in any potentially explosive coca-cola, chips, hot dogs or other dangerous outside food.. one guy looked in my back pack while another guy told me that no back packs are allowed inside.
i pointed to the woman directly in front of me who passed through with a hugh purse that was literally bigger than my back pack and asked why she was allowed in.
the guy said that purses are allowed, but not back packs.. "well, hell, this isn't a back pack!

I love Wasabi with shushi. As Aude said........use it sparingly. It does the same to my sinus cavity as the hot mustard sauce in a Chinese restaurant. HappyDad
