  Now that the great crowd is in place, the ruling is that to partake indicates a Heavenly Hope, whereas an Earthly Hope is indicated by being there and just passing the emblems

  Now I have a problem with this statement, first you say the ruling is...................where are the scriptures that lay down this ruling (no scripture hopping) where in context does it say by ANYONE that if you have a heavenly hope you take the emblems but if you have a earthly hope you dont? You see if you cannot direct me to specific scriptures with this rule, then its all speculation on the meaning isnt it ? And that is a very dangerous place to be.

  I think these scriptures tell us exactly............Ephesians 4 v4-6

  Or did you mean that the ruling is from the WT?

  i will start....i can speak conversational albanian....thanks to the foreign language field...really useful in everyday life as a cleaner....sniff...why didnt i pick mandarin?

  ..would be useful when they take over the world....but one day i will find an albanian to talk to ...that or a needle in a haystack....the emmerdalian world of jw's

  Is It Impossible To Reach A Devout JW ???

  i wonder.

  a very typcal witness may see the obvious negatives that jws know they have.

  they might acknowledge that there's often a lack of love, that the elders can be demanding, that "new light" can change long cherished beliefs in an instant.......but still they cling on and resist any sort of intellectual discussion as to why the witnesses are off soooooo many times.....what gives??

  Well as I can see here is the problem !

  A problem that many have found themselves in. A contradiction between (3) and (4 )

  i remember one windy summer day, after a meeting on sunday morning, i walked out of the hall behind a sister who was part of the church congregation with her two teenage children.

  her husband did not attend.

  the wind caught her dress unexpectedly and blew it up a'la marilyn monroe and revealed that she was wearing (shock, horror) french knickers...... there were a few murmers behind me which i at the time put down to things like "oh poor girl, so embarrassing".

  I know a brother who counselled another brother because when his wife was on the platform giving a talk he said he could see her nipples through her jumper and he had been distracted from the meeting..............

  i was in the org for 20 years and never actually read the bible from beginning to end.

  then i bought a living bible and found even the most difficult parts easy to read.

  but i still couldnt find time.

  I think the NWT is really hard to read and I dont trust it. I bought a standard revised version a few weeks back and cant find it

  I tried to get a living bible (gave mine away) but the shop start it isnt printed anymore

  the teachings held on to me.

  more so than the emotions and i did not have family in the organization to tie me down.. disconnecting yourself from watchtower thinkwhen you first discovered what the society was behind the scenes how long did it.

  Its been 3 years since I stopped going and still have cold shivers sometimes.

  Last week someone asked me if I was a christian I said yes, then she asked if I was a catholic or protestant. It wasnt an appropriate setting for long explanations so I just said protestant...................I felt so guilty, I really felt I was denying Jehovah

  I was in the org for 20 years and never actually read the bible from beginning to end I always wanted to and started many times but I could never keep it up. For one thing there was never any time and another it was really rather boring.

  Then I bought a living bible and found even the most difficult parts easy to read. But I still couldnt find time. Then I left the borg. Within a few months I had read it all. With the WT blinders off, I was pretty shocked at what the bible really said. Now I never read it or feel the urge, sometimes I wish I did.

  So to my original question have you read the bible throughout while you were in the org or since you left ?
