  do you know this happens in other country's?

  it is really strange to see that brs&srs are giving donations with their visa & mastercards.

  Bankcard-terminal in district assembly hall for donation WTS

  dear friends,.

  as i posted in an other category on this board http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/11/73036/1.ashx the wts has installed a bankcard/creditcard-terminal in their district assembly halls in the netherlands.

  i want to know your opinion about this.

  Dear Friends,

  As I posted in an other category on this board http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/11/73036/1.ashx the WTS has installed a Bankcard/Creditcard-terminal in their district assembly halls in The Netherlands. I want to know your opinion about this. Are these terminals installed in other country's also? During the announcements at the assembly we were told how to use the terminal in detail. Is it ethical right to install a bankcard/creditcard-terminal in a place of worship? Feel free to give your opinion!

  Thank you for this information Pavlov. What is your opinion/view on the bankcard-terminal in Swifterbant? Does it suprice you? It has made an impact by many of my relatives. A stap too far, is what I hear, and the comparison with the Temple of Jerusalem is made...

  Watchtower Convention= Kitchener ON Canada- PLEASE GET INVOLVED

  the 2004 convention season is under way, and we are going to the "walk with god" district convention at the kitchener memorial auditorium june 18-20,2004. now, we had a letter read out that said:.

  1) do not contact the auditorium.

  I can imagine the problem for the WTS: here in the Netherlands, brs&zrs walk during the program to the nearby Mcdonalds, buy coffee and donuts and walk back to their seat with their hands full with food and other stuff during the program. I did it also, but I can imagine some hardlines dont like this...

  The actual location of the terminal is just right of the informationdesk at the left side behind the entrance in Swifterbant. It does not catch the eye directly. If you can't find it, wait for the announcements, they will tell you were the terminal is.

  Hi Observador. Again: the bankcard/creditcards are accepted at the special assembly day and the two days circuitweekend, in the own WTS buildings. During the announcements we were told how to use the card terminal. They advise us also to type for a 17-euro donation the symbols 1700 instead of 17. I think they got the last months many donations of 0,17 euro because brs&srs typed 17 instead of 1700. Humorous! That was not the intention of the terminal I think!! For the readers who not believe this story, it is very very real! I never expected to "witness" these kind of incidents in "the" organisation, but they really happen here in the Netherlands!

  Hi, of course i'm patient!! But: I do not mean the conventionhall they use for the yearly conventions, but i mean the own WTS halls for the Special Assembly Days etc. The halls of the WTS in the Netherlands have an bankcard/creditcard acceptpoint for donations. The yearly conventions in hired halls will not have it, I think because the infrastructure is not owned by WTS.

  I see no postings from other country's having a bankcard&creditcard machine in the WTS conventionhall. I think this is an experiment in the Netherlands. It should be nice to hear an opinion about this from some internal friends at Brooklyn or Paterson etc. Please feel free to respond!

  Every weekend they charge 7000 euro for the hall. If there is not enough donation to pay this, they send the congregations a bill for the remaining amount. So the 7000 euro comes allways if we direct pay or not. And of course now with the bank/creditcard in the hall here. Is this a nice system? In the western world countrys the income must be great...
