  More 'great' statements from the MySpace JW forum....

  im getting a bit sick of it of late to be honest.

  i hardly know anyone that has come into the truth from witnessing recently and i certainly never get any biblestudies.

  i guess the internet is doing it's job...... this myspace forum is a sickening, twisted picture of the still-disillusioned - it's great.

  Well, I'm pretty limited because they can boot you for, as the home page says, "Stumbling me or others" or because "We simply don't like you or are bored".....now THAT'S love.... I think I'll go incognito and wreak havoc from the inside out...lol.

  And here is the premier 'Urban Legend' among JW's about going to college....

  Well let me tell you an experience I've heard and that you may have heard as well. About 6 youths in the truth were planning to attend Yale. All were strong, 2 brothers served as ministerial servants and 3 sisters as reg aux pioneers. The other sister pioneered occasionally but always was regular to all meetings. All their parents were sure they would make the right choices because just look at them! well after a few months at school their meeting attendence was sparattic and as time went on it only grew more irregular. By the end of their 4 years, 2 were disfellowshipped and the other 4 were inactive. You see they were overtaken with the study loads and the first things to go were the meetings. Satan will always try to find our weaknesses so by avoiding association with those that don't have the same views on the system of things. I don't mean to sound like a brown-noser but unless you drive too and from the campus I don't think you can avoid the temptations of imorallity because satan will find and exploit our weaknesses. I don't condem college I just don't think its worth all the time and money. So thats my two cents. ttyl

  Hasn't EVERYONE heard that story??? Let's see.....go to Yale, or pioneer...go to Yale, or pioneer......

  Nice, nice. If you read through that whole thread you'll find many examples of the 'love' they show. They're trying to determine how to tell who is an apostate and who is not....check this 'loving' act out...

  Try this technique. Give this person a swift kick between the legs. When they're on the ground listen for cursing. That will tell you exactly what you need to know.

  Now that I know they're on MySpace.com, I'm going to be ALL over that forum.......

  The vast majority tell me "no."...The fact is most Witnesses did not think the end of world was coming in 1975 because none of the publications stated that it will come. People quote titles of WT, but when you like at the text you find clearly statement that it is not known what 1975 will bring. The only thing that is known is that humankind will completed 6,000 years of existance in that year (which appears to held today).

  Uhhhhh....yeah they did. And the publications did all BUT outright state "ARMAGEDDON WILL BE HERE IN 1975!" Heavy hinting, alluding to things such as "How glorious it would be if Jehovah chose that year to bring the big A", signing it out in pictionary, whatever they did, most JW's thought the end WAS coming in 1975 and lived their lives as such.

  Truth book quoted from Famine 1975, but it said nothing about the end coming that year. ( I think people are pushing it when they mention that quoted book as prove the end is coming. The book was quote along with some other to show that there would be severe hunger problems in the world in the last days.)

  If you've read Olafsson's book on the Sign of the End, you'll know that the 'severe hunger problems' are simply not present in any more (in fact, less) severity than they have been in any other century. As usual, these quotes were not only taken out of context, but present a picture that is simply not true, it serves only to alarm the masses into thinking the end is near.....

  Conversations with my dad & sister for 1st time in over a year...

  i recently had to call and leave a message at my parent's home due to needing specific information from them about their places of birth, etc., because i'm applying for a passport.. my sister called me back later that same night and we had a strained, but all in all, cheerful conversation.

  she's younger than me, just turned 21 - i haven't seen her in about 3 years.

  we spoke mainly of her work, and kind of danced around the subject of my marraige back in march '05 that none of my immediate family came to.. i asked her if she thought my parents would like it if i sent them a few pictures from the wedding.

  He always sounds like hes sorry to hear I'm doing well in the world -

  Of course - you can't be happy away from Jehovah's organization. They think that the 'happiness' you're feeling is void and empty and false. You know how it is - people inside just cannot accept the fact that you can be happy away from the controlling environment. Opens too many doors inside their mind that they have to slam shut.

  It's truly sad that you cannot share the joy of your life with your family. As long as you've kept the 'door' open, then you've done all you can do. The rest is on them. I know you know all that, but just wanted to share a few supporting thoughts.

  Thanks for sharing. I still get a little hot under the collar when I hear these things, though.

  Coming Oil Shocks - real or myth?

  i've also looked at some of the counter arguements such as the theory of abiotic oil (oil is not a fossil fuel it is generated deep in the earth by geological processes and is therefore not going to run out.

  I think it's definitely a real possibility, simply because the U.S., competing for that #1 oil-consumer spot, is TOTALLY dependent on oil and petroleum products, yet controls very little of the world's reserves. I don't think the world will fall apart, but oil and therefore prices of gas and everything else will increase drastically.

  The more real challenge facing the U.S. especially is the 'housing bubble' - meaning the overinflated price of real estate, especially on the East and West coasts. So many homeowners have overpaid so much for land and housing, most are at the max they can pay for monthly payments, many are completely tapped out on other sources of credit. This creates a very fragile situation where it won't take much of a blip in the economy to start the ball rolling. Typically a housing bubble like this precedes a recession. Again, not 'world ending', but it could definitely cause a lot of people a lot of problems when the correction comes.....

  That will never happen lady. What you should be waiting for is the Day of Jehovah! That is what we are encouraged to wait for by the bible. Tht Day you may see if you wait. The other thing you are waiting for is only a wish that wont come true.

  Sure....you are still brainwashed now....but take a look around the board and the REAL truth of the Bible will be shown to you, while the deceptions, lies, inconsistencies and hypocricies of the Witnesses will also be made clear....

  Welcome to the board, even though you disagree. May you find the freedom that many of us have found.....

  Surely receiving gambling proceeds is akin to accepting a Christmas present?

  I had a boss once that said "If you don't celebrate Christmas, why do you accept Christmas bonuses?"

  Interesting point - as long as you 'tithed' to the Society, they probably wouldn't really care how you got the money...lol.

  That was a very well thought out, mild tempered, well-reasoned letter. Of course it fell on deaf ears, but that's how "honesty" is dealt w/ in the organization. I thought you made some excellent points and I printed out a copy and saved it for future reference. Thanks for sharing.
