  the circuit overseer in a neighboring circuit has been telling audiences in his visits to the congregations the following:.

  the governing body feels that the massacre in rwanda happened because satan wanted to get at the witnesses in that country.. i agree that satanic influence could have been behind it..........but do you think the thousands of casualties were caused solely to affect the small minority of witnesses there?.

  i suppose it's the same logic that ww1 + ww2 happened to get at the remnant of the 144,000. any comments on this?.

  Wonder if he has any backing from the Old Bodies (uh, I mean, the GB) on that one. If Satan wanted to get at the JW's in Rwanda, why didn't he just wait until a Sunday morning and then send his homies to the KH's in that country???

  As AlmostAthiest stated, it's ALWAYS about them. Like the arrogance in claiming that the seven trumpets (or however many it was) of Revelation were fulfilled by seven assemblies in the 1920's......yeah, a book survives 2,000 years to prophesy about some 1920's gatherings of a religious group/cult of a few thousand people.....

  we all know that the nwt is a truly lousy version if the bible.

  when they started using the bible why did they not add their own writings.

  i know they use the wt and other books but i mean, in the lines like the mormans did.

  That is an interesting point. This was the same group (the Catholic church) that also accepted around the same time period (roughly) the doctrines of the Trinity, hellfire, eternal soul, etc. So if the Society's thought is that the men who gathered the Bible canon were somehow 'inspired' (and, as you point out, they must, as they accept that canon), then how did they suddenly become 'un-inspired' when it came to their acceptance of those 'false' doctrines?

  im getting a bit sick of it of late to be honest.

  i hardly know anyone that has come into the truth from witnessing recently and i certainly never get any biblestudies.

  i guess the internet is doing it's job...... this myspace forum is a sickening, twisted picture of the still-disillusioned - it's great.

  That was me...lol. I guess he and the other posers (uh, I mean 'posters') in that thread didn't care for my version of the truth - which was to respectfully disagree. This guy has a song playing on his profile on the site that has enough 'f' bombs to make a sailor blush and he has naked women all over his profile....but I'm trying to stumble HIM??? What a joke.....

  If you want to change someone's viewpoints, thats fine. But going into a JW-youth discussion forum and pretending to be a devout witness or a potential bible student is wrong. If you want to save these kids, make up an ex-witness my space discussion group and they'll lurk and see the info for themselves.

  Why is it wrong? They pretend to be Bible students....they are WATCHTOWER students. I'll bet half of them haven't truly opened their Bibles in 10 years except to read a few texts in the WATCHTOWER study, or when trying to place the WATCHTOWER.....

  What's comical is that this guy has a song on his profile on this site that contains about a thousand 'f' bombs, and he has pictures of nearly naked women all over his profile. But I'm trying to stumble him.....I'm still laughing.....

  Did you review any of their homepages? The graphics and information was tellling.

  Yeah, that really struck me too. There were a couple of those profile pages that would probably have their 'owner' in front of a judicial committee in record time.

  There was a post today about how to 'generate interest in the ministry'. There was only one mention in the replies of using the Bible. Everything else was 'memorize my presentation' and a few sample presentations that were all about the Watchtower. You are so right - they have very little real knowledge or substance - they simply spout back what they have heard for the last 20 years without knowing why....

  I should have known....no snail mail address....guess they would get tired of all the stuff we would mail them...lol.

  No, I had an idea about mailing some printouts of some of the 'violent' suggestions on the MySpace "JW - Light of the World" forum to some of their local cong's and telling them that I was going to study, but then I saw this and it stumbled me. Just for the fun of it.....

  just read in another thread how a youngster moved many many miles from his old congo, where he had 'fessed to "self-abuse" (how many of the gb were in the early boy-scouts, i ask?

  anyway, the new book study conductor took him to one side after the meeting and asked how successful was he in dealing with his "problem".

  this is what gets me so much about letting hlc see your records - they have no sense of tactful kindness or privacy.

  I've never dealt with this issue, but I do know that elders pass on your private info to their wives ALL THE TIME!!!! And then that gossip gets repeated and twisted and passed around and pretty soon everyone within 200 miles knows. Such lowlifes......
