  i haven't been to the hall in quite some time even though all my family are still in and i see some of the witnesses from time to time.

  i am not disfellowshipped and don't intend to be as i don't see why they should have the right to stop me talking to my folks.

  however one of my friends has just had the big d and is now regretting it.

  you're right, JW's do get drunk alot. but instead of admitting they have a problem, if they get caught, the put their dick between their legs and beg for mercy. This works for two purposes, one, it feeds the elders' "we are allmighty" complex, and two, leaves the person to get drunk again without any help.

  you said it would jsut be a meaningless phrase...you mean like free speech? Why is everything censored if its free...

  i wouldnt outlaw them, that would give them the ability to become marytrs. the last thing we need is more JW's playing the "We do gods work, even facing DEATH" card...*throws rocks*

  it's all very simple.. ask yourself: if i refer to this group as a "cult", could i be excommunicated or disfellowshipped or expelled?.

  have the leaders of this group instructed me not to refer to it as a "cult"?.

  i saw a movie tonight and came home thinking about a couple old friends who are still witnesses.

  i miss them something awful.

  i needed to write, so i wrote in my journal for a while, but i really felt the need to write them directly.

  this was mentioned at the service meeting.. but, it should be worrying to the society, not as wonderful as it may sound.

  the number getting baptized each year is shrinking rapidly.. at one time, they boasted of baptizing 1000 dubs a day which equals to 365,000 dubs.

  this was back in 1997.. at the dc this year, it was 5,000 a week.

  i started buying cds back in 1991. i haven't counted them lately, but i believe my collection is hovering somewhere around 500. how many do you own (not including burned ones)?.

  i've also got about 100 (prerecorded) cassettes, about 150 lps, and 100 (pre-recorded) 8-tracks.

  I keep my about 200 cds, plus another 100 or so mp3 albums, all on my mp3 player

  80gb with me everywhere i go, i could cross the country 4 times in a car going the speed limit, and not hear the same song twice

  Idea for when "Beware the Voice of Strangers" is studied

  after reading the "beware the voice of strangers" article, a thought occurred to me.

  it has been suggested in the past that a number of board members ought to attend a particular meeting all on the same day.

  why not on the sunday when this article is studied?
