I defend some of the beliefs they taught, that i myself, through research have found to be true.

every so often, i will read on this board, how some people will defend and apologize for what jws do or believe in.....i just don't get it.

recently onacruse made a comment regarding why many jws remain jws.
a lot of people look at religion as a way to get together and be social with one another.
let's face it, people need "friends".
I had been on my way out for years. When i finally left, only 1 person my age didnt want to go with me...now ask how many did...
go on...
ask...
I DARE YOU..
Thats right, all of them chose to stay witness since some didnt want to leave. True friends are found in adversaty...guess i didnt have any.
hey everyone.. i've been "out" for about six months now, fully enjoying life for the first time in a very long time.
part of my joy comes from the freedom i now have to explore other spiritualities.. i will say, though, that since leaving i've felt something lacking in my life.
not because i regret my decision to leave.
I dont...im still working on getting past the WTBTS.
drinking and driving?
my cousin (non-jw) died in a car accident related to a drunken driver in my mid-teen years ?
he was very cool, i miss him.
I would never drink and drive, nor get in a car with someonewho has been drinking....again...
my friend took a few swigs of Southern Comfort, then drove us downtown..i totally forgot he had any thing to drink, untillk we were almost downtown.
.
we all have them..bands we want to be recongnized, but dont want to become mainstream because then they cant be 'your' band anymore.. what are yours?.
mine: massive attack, portishead, gunfighter, ok go, god lives underwater.

bump
i have a cousin who challenged the jws.
her conversation went something like this:.

the mystic's life lesson #4 .
im not really big on trancing. I do enjoy creating lucid dreams however.
it helps to have a dream journal that you write in every morning before you forget your dreams. This helps you recognize dreams from reality...by doing seeing the difference, you can adjust dreams to suit what you want, knowing that they are only dreams.
the trick is to not wake up.
i recently bought a bible after not having one or cracking one open for 18 years.
it's amazing how different it is now.
i thought it was all mumbo jumbo contradictions and insane ramblings.
sounds like the JW's of today
