Bliss, after reading your 486 post and feeling absolutely disgusted, would you like to please give me contact details of the congregation involved? I am concerned both for you firstly, and your child. I am in the truth as you would gather, but as a JP and a marriage celebrant who knows a few contacts both in and out of the brotherhood, it may be possible to be of help if you would trust and let me. Or should I contact you direct? Please just advise. My police contacts could be helpful, but I would want you (and hubbies) approvals before taking any issues further. Take care, gdt.

26Update after talking to family services.
by BLISSISIGNORANCE ini rang family services this afternoon.. the woman i spoke to was very helpful and honest.. firstly i told her i had rung because the person that abused my child had been seen by me pushing a toddler in a pram and by a friend of mine tickling and touching children at the meetings.
i expressed how fearful i am for the children in the congo.. she wanted the pedos name, my name, my kid's name etc.
she asked what he did to my kid and when i told her she said he was an abuser..........no kidding!

My Brother Begged Me To Come Back To Jehovah & His Organization!!!
by minimus ini recieved a 7 page "note" from my brother and his wife pleading with me to come back to jehovah god and his organization.
he said the devil was after me and my family and that the results will be disastrous unless i come back to "jehovah's protective custody".
also, it was strongly implied that unless my family went back to meetings and went out in field service, most jws, including family members would not attend my daughter's wedding and reception.my wife, daughter and i have been overtaken by the devil, according to him.

minibus, somewhere along the line, we (and I am referring to all who claim to be truly Christ-like) must surely learn to stop judging, lest we be judged. I am truly upset and sorry that you are enduring these sort of things, no doubt your family love you very much, and their disappointment at your decisions has over-ridden plain old common-sense as well as true Christianity, but maybe your spreading your brother's letter will be understood to be disloyalty to him and make things much harder for your future communication. From what you say, he is not all that bad even though you disagree with him, but you know it is notgoing to 'pour oil on rough waters' by breaking any confidentiality you have had....anyway please take special care in your thought to post his sincere letter on this board, you have had a lot of opinions offered you and you can't possibly please everyone....just yourself. I offer these thoughts having had many years in the truth, many very hurtful 'human' actions but i have learned it is no benefit to throw stones whilst living in a glass house.

WTS positives- A therapy project
by zugzwang inso my therapist told me that if i am ever going to heal emotionally and psychologically from the damage done by the wts that i need to not just focus on the negative, but to think about how the wts helped make me a better person.
i suppose it is because of the wts that i never got involved with illegal drugs or gangs.. .
because of the wts i was always a good student in school.

Hi there...i enjoyed all the positives....really worthwhile and no doubt true.. could you perhaps think of one more, that of getting an appreciation of your creator, to be able to thank him for the good things of life, loke flowers, food, sleep, anything of joy that it is easy to say thanks for. and remember your dedication should have been to him, it seems more lilely that your dedocation was to the brotherhood perhaps, but it was a very fine summary of your years in the truth, thank you, don't get bitter please, cheers, gdt

Face it - some people WANT to be a JW!
by Dawn inafter many many conversations with my family i've come to the conclusion that some people just want to be a witness.
they need that security of being told all the answers - of having their decisions made for them - and the tight social group they're involved in.. the truth is - it's much harder when you don't have all the answers and you have to think for yourself.
i guess some people just aren't ready to face that.

Surely you must know how much strength it takes every week to want to go face-to-face with all sorts of people with all sorts of anti-God, anti-faith, anti-anything attitudes. danny, thanks for the response, i don't profess to have 'pearls' or anything much 'holy' but whatever has happened to you and your family is, no matter how awful, still not reason to be so harsh, in my opinion. It sounds like the local body of elders came around and beheaded all your family and somehow missed you! But this is not Rawanda and Tutsuis verses the Hutus. And it is not my business to ask, but if your family is still alive and some of them are still witnesses despite your stance, is it not right that they respect you, and you respect them? Is it not right to disagree, agreeably? Enough, I shall disappear in the mist...as you so correctly say 'dead' ,as we shall all be one day. In the meantime....cheers, be kind to yourself too Geoff.

May i as a current and active witness, be allowed to comment that 'turning the other cheek' is not a principle seen much here at all, and surely even with all the arrows thrown at what individuals have done wrongly or misapplied sincerity among the elders or general brothers, surely many of you must see the destructive and somewhat disorganized but common efforts in these threads to destroy and tear down, are hardly in keeping with the Master who said we all should 'turn the other cheek'.....but then after reading a society magazine such as the Watchtower and having 300 odd verses of the Bible applied to various subjects, one would expect to get the mind of the Master on any given subject....and of course there has got to be benefit in reading the scriptures themselves consistently....
i have not yet had explained why a thread was dropped and why several of my posts have been deleted, no hatred, no swearing, but trying to appeal to fair and decent discussion and respect for other's opinions. Time for me to stop, and cheers to all, gdt Geoff.

Sad News...
by Sentinel inmy mom had her valve replacement and triple by-pass surgery today.
the operation lasted five hours, and they had just gotten her to her room at 8:00pm when she went into cardiac arrest.
the doctor tried everything, even opening up her chest and massaging her heart.
