Relatives? What are those... you mean I actually have a family outside of the organization? I am more than a little bitter about the fact that I have little to no relationship with most of my family. Of course holidays are when most families get together... so of course I was alienated from them. I have an aunt that I just recently met. Isn't that sad...It amazes me how something "soo good for you" can cause you to be locked in a little air-tight box. I wish there was someway I could make up all the lost time and form some sort of relationship with my aunts grandmas...cousins etc. Maybe thanksgiving would be good

How do you interact with your worldly relatives?

now that i am no longer a jw, i can associate, and celebrate holidays and other family traditions with my non-jw relatives.
however i am sometimes bitter because i missed so many experiences as a child with my relatives that they seem almost like strangers rather than relatives.. does anyone else feel this way, and how have you bridged the gap?

My 4 year old daughter has declared us JW free!!!!
by choks inwell exactly as the title says...my 4 year old daughter, obviously tired of my dithering has taken matters into her own hands!.
the background is that i was bought up in the troof, and began my fade about 6 months ago.
i had been talking to my daughter about us not going to the meetings anymore and she accepted it very well.

This is a great story...kids really see it like it is....My 2 year old recently started saying bless you... I cant wait for grandma to hear that one.....I might as well tatoo her up and teach her to smoke as far as they're concerned..Hang in there!

Hey Everyone.....Thanks for welcoming me!! Yea...when i told the brothers and angel flew over my bed and thats how i was with child they said....Oh really...then why does she look just like the next door neighbor....(kidding of course.) But i really am glad to be here. It's good to know im not the only person destined to lead a life of misery outside the organization. *note the sarcasm! Thanks for the words Chevy...and sassy! By the way Sandy...aka well...you know....it's okay to be chicken...we still love you...can't wait till we all get together again! Dan...were expecting to see you again too.
