Would it be possible to make a guitar amp out of one of these? I'm in desperate need of a new amp and don't have the money to buy a good one.

Audiophiliaimaniacs Delight
by hillary_step inany true audiophiles must take a look a wilmslow audio's speaker kits.
these are either supplied component only so that you can build your own cabinets, or in kits which you just assemble.
over the years i have built a number of these kits, from the bbc monitors, to the monster four unit designs and can highly recommend them.

New apostate scare?
by Snowcrash ini'm curious if anyone else who still attends meetings keeps hearing the same drek about apostates at every meeting?
i have been, and it gets to me a little, seeing as i feel like a snake in the grass.
has anyone else noticed this insane amount of focus on apostates?

Anyone See The Grudge?
by Nancy Drake ini took my niece to see "the grudge" last night.
i was holding on to her almost the entire time.
i thought it was pretty creepy, but i haven't seen many scary movies to compare it to.

I saw it yesterday. I liked it a lot, but wasn't really scared by it. It could have been because the women behind me kept screaming so loud at every scare that I couldn't stop laughing. Some women are just good screamers, and this woman had the vocal chords of an opera singer.
To call The Grudge a rip off of The Ring is a little unfair. Both of them are remakes of Japanese horror movies. It would be like calling Friday the 13th a rip off of Halloween. Both are similar in premise: Man in white mask kills shrieking girls with questionable morals. But both movies have moments that really make them shine and deserve their own place in horror movie history. Many aspects of horror are tailored to the culture they come from, but at the very base of each story is a universal theme. Since both movies are dripping with elements of the Japanese sense of horror, they're going to have a similar feeling to them, just as Halloween and Friday the 13th contain the similar elements that our culture puts into its horror.
I thought the pacing of The Grudge was excellent, but the musical cues made the scare scenes entirely too obvious. It's obvious in a lot of movies, but for The Grudge it was really bad. Overall, though, I thought it rocked. Maybe I'll be more scared if I see it alone, without a woman singing Dido's Lament behind me. -

Alien Vs. Predator is not a farfetched premise. In fact, Alien is part of the Predator cannon. In Predator 2, there is a scene where we see the Predator's ship. Inside the ship, there is an unmistakable Alien skull displayed prominently. This got a lot of nerds excited (myself included) as they imagined a fight between the Aliens and the Predators, so Dark Horse comics got the rights to both movie liscences and started publishing Alien Vs. Predator comic books. Alien Vs. Predator has been around for about ten years now. Talk of a movie has been going on just as long, snowballing from idle chit-chat over D&D games to business conferences between movie moguls (whether the movie moguls were playing D&D or not is still a mystery). There are even video games based on the idea. This isn't some random thing, Alien Vs. Predator have become like peanut butter and chocolate in the time they've been out of the mainstream spotlight.
I agree with Terry. I enjoyed this movie a lot because it was so stupid. You knew going in that it wasn't going to be the next Citizen Kane. Come on, it's just a monster movie.
Besides, the facehugger bullet time was so bad, it rocked. -

One leads to the other, don't you think? We've been burned enough by not checking validity of sources that we've swallowed an entire religion of bullshit. Look what happened because of that.

Well, yeah. Geocities will let any crazy have a website, be it something related to the Freemasons or some fourteen year old girl's Orlando Bloom fansite. If this guy really knew his stuff, I doubt it would be on a geocities page. It would be more likely to be on some university's page, that would state his name, how he knew so much about the Freemasons, and why he was interested in it (maybe he is a theology teacher or something). This way we could do a little research on him to see if he's full of crap or not.
