A Political Consideration For You

i'm sure you've heard tom daschel, al gore, richard gephardt and other prominent democrats wheezing and moaning about talk radio.

you can bet your boots that within the next 12 to 14 months, the democrat party is going to attempt to reinact some form of the old "fairness doctrine" which said that if you allowed one political point of view to be aired on your radio or tv station, that you had to provide equal time for the expression of the opposing point of view.

i was employed in the radio/tv bidness during the years of the "fairness doctrine" and i can tell you the objective was never fairness.

I think there are pros and cons on both sides. What I hate about the Republicans is how they support this:

What are Republicans doing to help the environment? Nothing. Why? Because there's dirty money involved between the government and Energy Corporations such as ENRON. I don't know all the deets about that scandal, but I know Bush had his fingers all in that one.

Whether you care to believe it or not, there's dirt on both sides. I tend to have a little more respect for those who show insight on the future of the world rather than those who want to make the quickest buck any way the possibly can.

And isn't it the Rebublican party that is currently taking our privacy freedoms away?

And I find it quite interesting that California, the technological Mother of this country, voted majority Democratic. Nobody out here likes Bush. In fact, it seems like most people in the WORLD do not care for him. Wonder why that is?? I think it's because Republicans are conservative and appeal to the religious folk that are found predominantly in the south, the "Bible belt." Religion isn't that big on the west coast. I think they're brainwashing everyone in church to vote Republican. :-P Subliminal messages in the hymns or something.....hahhaha

I really don't get involved in the depths of politics - just my two cents worth....

I don't know what you think of me Francois, but I actually enjoy debating with you. :-)

Yeah, definitely no racism on my end. All through life I've had friends of all sorts of nationalities. Being in touch with different nationalities and cultures makes one a more rounded out individual.

I can't recall seeing any pics of the sort at Brooklyn. Somebody else might, but I don't....seems like there were pictures on the wall in the 124 dining room...just of like paradise scenes and what not...there was never much mention of CT Russell though, now that I think about it.

i've been driving for 12 years now and have up and down the east coast numerous times, across country and up and down the west coast numerous times.

plus my commute to work for the past 2 years is 95 miles round trip.

Is the Bible really the word of God??

i would like to open the topic up for discussion.

none of the christian fundamentalists would respond to the post as it seems that there is some truth here.

This is a very interesting post - I saw that book on Amazon months ago and have wanted to read it. I think it raises valid points - my questions are as follows:

Although there have been many "Jesus-like" stories and tales prior to Jesus time, does that automatically make Jesus a fable as well?
If the story of Jesus is indeed untrue, are we still awaiting the presence of a Messiah?

Also:

We have seen that there is no evidence for the historicity of the Christian founder, that the earliest Christian proponents were as a whole either utterly credulous or astoundingly deceitful, and that said "defenders of the faith" were compelled under incessant charges of fraud to admit tthat Christianity was a rehash of older religions.

I would like to read the supporting evidence of this statement.....

Or do I have to buy the book? :-P

P>Francois, YOU need to get a life. ; You're so quick to shoot stuff down, but you don't provide a counter-arguement, facts or research proving your point OR disproving the post. ; Anything slightly anti-American is instantly communism to you - what's up with that? ; There was nothing wrong with the way that article was presented - it didn't make any half-assed assumptions, just provided a few things to think about. ; 
You and America are like a 2 year old still breast feeding. ; Pull the nipple out of his/her mouth and they have a FIT. ;

Simply put, there's sound reason for someone to question the events of 9/11. ; If they want to discuss those reasons they every right to do so without being labeled a commie. ;

Serious Pet Peeves

don't mean to be gripey, but would like to vent about two observations i've made lately:.

1) a mother whose child wouldn't follow her soon enough at the grocery store.

All you beautiful, respectable women out there...

Please take into consideration that it's not easy not to look at a woman's breast while talking to her. Number one, men are naturally attracted to the shape of a woman, moreso than women are attracted to the shape of a guy. We are drawn and act upon the beauty of the womanly form - that's just the way we're made - we can't help it!

It just so happens that breasts have the tendency to be stared at because they are constantly within the range of eyesight while talking to you. If the booty happened to be located where your breasts are, it would be the same thing - we'd be struggling not to stare at your booty while talking to you. It's not a matter of disrespect at ALL (not in all cases - some guys are definitely creeps and show no respect whatsoever).

Would you not find it difficult not to stare at the bulge in our pants if it were on the same viewing level as our eyes?

I do make a huge concious effort to look in a womans eyes while talking to her. It's not easy either, especially when you have a really attractive pair in front of you.

I know this is a sensitive subject amongst women who commonly get whistled at and treated like sex objects by inconsiderate men. Here's to all the gentlemen out there that want to let our women know we appreciate their beauty without making them feel like sex objects!!
