Shutterbug, yeah, exactly my viewpoint - just confuses me when they don't - I mean, I'd think a person would be prepared to back themselves up before calling someone an idiot for posting an article or making a remark about the info contained within.

i tried to figure out a way to do this anonymously, because i really hate looking stupid.

but you see, i'm not really much of an internet person.
I'm not sure how everyone else does it, but the way I figured out is:
Type or cut and paste your paragraph or sentence.
Then start a new paragraph.
Now go back, select your sentence/paragraph, and hit the quote button.
Afterwards, you should be able to click on the spot where you started a new paragraph/sentence and continue typing.

This site had tons of info on it, claiming the Bush family was behind the attempted asssassination of Reagan, an in-depth look into 9/11, JFK, Osama, etc etc etc.
My question is this: Does the government monitor these sites? Do they view these sites the same way the borg views this one - as angry, misled people who have something against them? Or do they take down some of these sites just as the borg has supposedly sent viruses to "apostate" websites in order to prevent the real truth from surfacing?
Just curious. I try to take research from several resources and compare the facts, and I'm not quite sure how to feel about "conspiracy theories." A lot of them are so far-fetched it's hard to believe they could be true, but some of them you can't help but wonder, and it doesn't help matters that the government has been known to be quite dirty in the past. It's hard to determine whether one should believe the propaganda produced by the corporate media or the loony conspiracy theories put forth by drugged-out hippies.
How do you draw the line? I sincerely want to know because I've been pretty much laughed at for believing information I've learned on conspiracy websites, yet when I ask for proof otherwise I recieve no response. I'm undertaking years of research that I've missed out on from being in the Borg and I want to be able to gain accurate knowledge of the world, therefore I need to know what the best sources are. I'm desperately working towards being able to pursue a college education, but I'm going to have to wait until the fall to do so, so until then I'm making use of the greatest source of informations available, the internet.
So are conspiracy theories all bogus? Any comments on this would be much appreciated.

i always loved little animals, and i always will have one.
i noticed that most families do have pets.
for people living alone, a pet is a good companion.
For the longest time I couldn't figure out how people got so attached to animals. We never had a pet growing up, so I couldn't relate. Now I've had 3 cats, 2 I had to give back to a shelter because we moved, but the current one, Zoe, is 5 months old and is an absolute sweetheart. She's got the white belly and charcoal gray tiger stripes and piercing yellowish eyes. She craves attention and will cuddle with anyone who will stroke her head. This is absolutely crazy, but I actually felt jealous when she hopped on a friends lap and let her pet her. She doesn't take to strangers at first, and this was the first time she preferred someone elses company over ours, and I didn't quite know what to make of it. I had to keep telling myself "she's a CAT - GET OVER IT!!!" and finally I snapped out of it.
I'm stoked because I found these litter liner bags that have holes in them so all you have to do is lift one bag up and all the crap is collected in it and the clean litter sifts to the next bag underneath it. I HATE cleaning the litter box so this will hopefully make the job a lot more tolerable!
Pets are wonderful - as soon as we buy a house we'll get a dog too. I'd like to have an Fox Terrier.

I was a JW, but led a double life at school. I smoked cigarettes a few times just for the experience of being cool like the other guys. I cussed and told dirty jokes just like the other kids. The school I went to was in the upper middle class/ upper class part of town, but they bussed in kids from all over so that there was a balance. As a result I hung out with all types of kids - the blacks, the "rednecks", the "hoods" and the "preppies." I had crushes on numerous hotties, but only 1 ever developed into a lunch time make out partner, which got me so worked up, my hunger for sex was killing me. (never had sex until years later though) I was at an awkward point of growing up and I had glasses, plus my dad cut my hair and made sure I didn't get a cool "worldly" hair cut like the rest of the kids.
"The bible says we shouldn't be a part of the world, so we don't want to look like them either. I figure a hair cut that doesn't imitate their worldly, gaudy lifestyle is the best hair cut a Christian can have. Do you think Jesus would have a fade?"
When I turned 18 my friend started cutting my hair and all got better. :-)
I was pretty smart but didn't apply myself because I wasn't going to college, so why waste my time trying to get a good SAT score. I had more fun talking to friends about the latest music, and at that time I was introduced to Metallica, Rush, Led Zeppelin, etc...so that stuff consumed my thoughts constantly. I played piano and drums but never did any of it for the school.
What sucked is when I'd run into classmates while out in service. Or they'd see me on a saturday afternoon at a corner store and ask why I was all dressed up. I'm black so I don't know if I was physically turning red or darker, but man was it embarrassing having to give them the whole "I'm one of Jehovah's Witnesses...just out talking to people about the Bible.." - I had no choice cuz my dad would've killed me had I not said that.
Ughhhhhh!
So yeah, basically I was a sexually frustrated teenage JW nerd that led a double life. And I was always afraid another Witness girl at school would rat me out for cussing and making out w/ a girl, but even though I never saw her do anything wrong, she always smiled at me and never ratted me out!

I would have to disagree with the lost faith in the government part because there are a lot of people here that were once JW's that have a great deal of faith in the government and were obviously quite patriotic while they were part of the borg. However I'm sure it does apply to some JW's....
I think a common factor amongst the Witnesses is social status and education. It would be quite interesting to survey how many Witnesses have an educaton beyond high school. Also, their message appeals to the poor or struggling middle class society that are frustrated with their life - the JW's offer a bright future and those struggling with life and are in tight situations soak this up.
I think also a lot of people become Witnesses because of the warm, friendly environment of the Kingdom Hall. Granted a lot of halls don't have this environment, but in general the Witnesses are known worldwide for a wonderful, warm brotherhood of people from all walks of life, and that is something hard to find these days. It definitely makes an impression on those exposed to it for the first time.
Lastly, I think what attracts people is the way they answer any question you may have from the Bible. They've got every topic covered and to the person that has not researched religion and theology, it does make sense, especially if that's the only explanation you've ever received.
They've definitely got quite the sales pitch and it's hard to see through it unless you're educated on history, science and religion.

Maybe some read this and think somehow the Air Force dropped the ball, but I just can't come to that conclusion no matter how hard I try. I mean, they practice for this type of thing, and then when the real thing happens and a plane is making a beeline for the PENTAGON after two planes have already slammed into the WTC, ummmm.....HELLO. D.C. cannot be that vulnerable.
Are we the only ones that think this way? As those events unfolded that day, I never concluded it was an inside job, but it all seemed rather odd to me. Had it been one plane, that would've been a lot more convincing, but...FOUR? And then when the one "crashed" in an empty field, yet the picture showed little wreckage, then reports were released saying that part of the plane was found a mile or so from the crash site, yet the government denied any implications that it was shot down. Then you never heard about it anymore and when I tried to find info about it I couldn't. It just all seemed fishy but I was too emotionally distraught to try to make any sense out of it.
I dunno, I just figured more people would sense how strange the whole thing unfolded, but I guess not. I think their desire to hate and blame another race for the event drowns out any idea or thought that it could be any different. It's like the jury who deep down knows the person being tried could be innocent, but because he or she is a minority, they vote guilty for they'd rather not be the one to stick out like a sore thumb for sticking up for a minority. (or for any other reason they vote guilty knowing that there could be a possibility the person is innocent)
Also, the whole way the investigation into whether or not Bush knew about 9/11 beforehand was shot down and replaced by war w/ Iraq news and erased out of peoples minds also led me to believe something is fishy. I'm not one to say he orchestrated it or anything of that sort, I'm just convinced it all didn't happen like we've been told. And for the life of me I can't understand why anyone would instantly label this whole thing as "conspiracy" and not question these things. Undisfellowshipped provides more evidence, yet still nothing from the ones who laugh at me, called me naive and said I must obviously be high on something. I don't think this is funny at all - if you're going to insult me be damned well ready to prove how my reasoning is off-based - if not shut the hell up because you're the one that looks like an idiot, not me.

I've been to Pennsylvania many many times and not once did I look underground for hidden government buildings.
In fact, I've never searched any state for underground buildings. People have dug underground tunnels and escaped from high security prisons before, yet you think the government cannot build an underground establishment in Pennsylvania without you knowing about it.
And I'm the crazy one? Please understand you could be absolutely 100% correct, but your reasoning does not support your claim at ALL. Personally, if I were President I would've built an underground nuclear fallout shelter YEARS ago, but obviously since you've never seen it there isn't one.
